I have a mitsubishi 55 inch. vs-55609 rear projection tv and it has started to have issues. When I first turn on the tv there is either a black screen or a screen with snow and you can hear the noise from the speakers. However, if I turn the vcr on and use the tv's remote to switch the tv input to the vcr input then the picture comes in with no problems. If I switch the tv input back to antenna a then same thing. If I wait long enough then the picture will come back and the tv will run with no issues (most of the time) until I turn it off and go to turn it on the next time. I can play a movie on the dvd/vcr player with no issues. I have replaced all cables and disconnect the vcr and same thing. It is not the cable feed as this is on a splitter box and the other tv is fine. I eliminated the other tv from the splitter and same thing. I can't understand why turning on the vcr and changing to that input solves the issue. I don't want to have to do this every time I want to watch television and I want to know that my Mitsubishi is functioning correctly. Please let me know what you think of this issue.
If picture is dark or goes dark intermittently with or without lines and or fuzzy picture or if the screen turns blue and the set shuts off, check IC9C25. Could be bad, or bad connections It is on the signal board. Right behind the input or whatÂ’s called the terminal board. The IC is a BA09FP. This IC supplies 9 volts to the terminal board. Try resoldering it first.
IC9C25 (9-volt regulator) part # 270P677030. BA09FP regulator from B&D Enterprises in Russell, Pa. http://www.bdent.com or yoy can get it with or without the convergence kit or the blinking light kit at tv-repairkits.com
Good Luck!!!

Thanks for the response Larry. The picture doesn't just go dark. When I turn the tv on all I get is a black picture mixed with a snow effect and all I hear is a loud static noise. Why would turning the vcr on and switching the tv input to vcr correct this if there is a faulty part?
not sure but try to tap that ic while the set is on please see what happens it is located right behind the input jack panel on a stand up metal almost square heat sink. just tap lightly-with the set on onto of that metal heat sink. See if you get any change in the picture at all
I was getting my HD receiver installed and after it was installed and browsing through the channels my TV turned off. It is a Mitsubishi WS-65311 HD 1080 series widescreen TV. When trying to turn TV on; green light come on accompanied by clicking sound then after a couple seconds light turns off also accompanied by same clicking.
I would appreciate any insight on how to fix problem or what to do. [email protected]
I have a Mitsubishi WS-55711 and the convergence is way out of alignment, and we are having a problem with intermittent power failure. Any thought on how to fix it and if it is worth the price to fix it?
Larry,
i have a Mitsubishi WS-65315 and right after i turn it on it shuts down. i was wondering if you have heard of this before and have a fix or if its something i'm going to have a tech look at.
Hi I need the service manual for the VS60803 model Mitsibishi. I am having converangce problems with the set. The bottom 1/3 has a rainbow effect. Also the guide + is no loading correctly. Last night it was auto changing channels also. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated. [email protected]
Thank you in advance.
Larry,
Read through all your articles and I more than appreciate your hard work and patience. I have conclude that my WS-55859 needs to have the convergence chips replaced. I have soldered/repaired a few of these tv's in the past year and have a 65 inch that i use for parts, etc. Can i swap the boards out instead of buying the kit and replacing the chip, or are they not compatible? If you don't mind e-mailing me back at [email protected] i would definitely appreciate it, if not i'll check back this forum. Thanks.
thenewguy16,The best advice I can tell you at this point is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the complete convergence kit for your model of TV set, no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! The kit comes with original Sanyo STK ICÂ’S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made ICÂ’S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases,
Great resource. I have a Mitsu VS55707. I have typical convergence symptoms. Factory resetting the convergence setting worked once, then did nothing. I replaced the convergence ICs from the kit I bought from tvrepairkits.com. Same symptoms on power up (At least I did not break the unit further). I did not replace the resistors since they were not discolored and measuring across the convergence resistors (without desoldering any of the leads so take that for what that is worth) they measured 3.9 ohms which is what they are rated at.
My problem is that I want to try replacing the picofuses next. I know that I need to find F9A04 and F9A05 components. I can't find them. The ICs for my model live on the way left side of the board. I just need an idea that these either do not exist for my set or a general location where I should be looking. They certainly do not live near the IC's or if they do they are well hidden. Any advice would be appreciated. I have the manual for my set on PDF.
Am I just not adjusting the thing correctly with my remote?
hi i have a Mitsubishi WS-65809, it turns on for 2 seconds before turning off and is giving me an error code of 2-3. i looked on another site and it told me to test the transistors Q5A51 and Q5A31 for a short or open. both transistors are fine, what else does this error code cover?
Hi Larry - I have a ws-65813 and had the service guy out today. He didn't even look at the tv but told me the blinking light was a $775.25 repair. Charged me $150 for coming out and left. Can you help?
The best advice I can tell you is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the blinking light kit for your model of set, the kit comes with the high temperature/ high frequency/long life 105 Celsius type capacitors (not those cheap Radio Shack caps) full easy to follow pictorial directions, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem, all kits are shipped out within 24 hours in most cases, 2 to 3 day Priority mail. GOOD LUCK!!!
Larry, I have a Mitsubishi WD-52525 T.V. and the green timer light on the front of the set is blinking. My e-mail is [email protected] Thanks.

Im not sure if you can help, but I have a question about my Mitsubishi WS-65315, we have a tech replacing the power supply board (he got it directly from Mitsubishi) and he still can't get the green light to stay on after reconnecting everything. we got him through Mitsubishi preferred vendors/ their website. are you able to send any info, schematics, etc. you have to my email: [email protected] as we have already put $800 into fixing this ($500 just for the board he can't get to work)
