 Larry, I have a Mitsubishi

Larry, I have a Mitsubishi HD widescreen T.V. and the light on the front of the set is blinking. I have read some of the information that you have told the other members and it sounds like this is the same problem. Could you send me the manual or schematics for the tv so I can do the testing? The model is a ws-55513 or possibly a ws-55613 I know that it is a diamond series. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thanks.

Hello Larry,
Hello Larry,
I have a Mitsubishi WS-55511 and a few days ago my dog (to the left) chewed up my remote. After he did this my red convergence was wayyy off. I bought a new remote and when I went to correct the red convergence the vertical adjusted but the horizontal wont move.

Please let me know how to resolve this. If the IC needs replacing then please let me know, I already know the part number I just need confirmation this is the problem. Also if you could let me know the steps in making the replacement I'd sure appreciate it.
Thank you,
Larry

Larry,

Larry,

I just stumbled across this forum and it looks mighty helpful!

I'm trying to help a friend with his television.  He ordered a schematic from Mitsubishi and after two months he's still waiting for it (I don't know what is so difficult about having Mitsubishi send a schematic).

Would you happen to have a schematic for a Mitsubishi WS-55311 television you could share?  Thank you and happy holidays.

Regards,

Brian

Hi Larry, i've a Mitsubishi

Hi Larry, i've a Mitsubishi VS-60805 (7yrs old) whose picture becomes distorted and eventually blacks out. When i turn the TV off and on again the picture comes back but only for 5min and than gets distorted and pitch black again. I can still hear the sounds though. please help me find what's wrong and how i can fix it. is it the convergence boards? if so where are those boards with the STR...numbers located exactly in the hot bed. and before i really dig into it what should i look for/do in order to fix them. i have a decent technical experiences w/ soldering and printed boards but could use some troubleshooting help and manuals. thanks a lot for you advices, [email protected]

I have the VS-50111

I have the VS-50111 Mitsubishi & I know that the convergence IC needs to be replaced.  My problems are:

#1 I can't find the stk394-160's that I need but I find plenty of Hitachi repair kits that have the 150's.  Are they ok to use?  I want to order a kit so I can replace the fuses also just in case.

#2- Which chassis info corresponds to the V20a? I find chassis models dp14-g, dp15, dp15e, dp05, etc. but can't tell which I need.

Found website to get manual for repair but need above info to find. This link may help others needing manuals or schematics & it's free!

Larry I have a Mits WS65903

Larry I have a Mits WS65903 Your part #s for the convergence IC's all jive with what I have been told to replace the only problem is where is the little bugger can you help? I am an electrician by trade not an electronics guru but I am willing to take a stab at replacing the unit myself.

The IC is mounted on a large

The IC is mounted on a large metal plate called a heat sink. Probably on the opposite side of where you are looking when you open the back of the set. You will need to loosen the chassis and remove several wire ties and slide out the chassis to get to it. Best thing you could do is go to servicemanuals.net and get the service manual for this set. it will show you how it comes apart. Good Luck

Larry.  I have a Mitsubishi

Larry.  I have a Mitsubishi 55 inch.  Model number VS55707.  When I try to do the advanced convergences on the tv it will not let me and the lines for convergence are bowed.  I called a local tv repair shop and they said that the convergence I.C. were out.  They were wanting to charge me $350 dollars to repair it.  I have an electronics background from being in the military and doing electronics.  Do you think that I would be able to replace these myself and if so, where is the best place to get them.  I was also wondering if you would have a repair manual for the tv or if you knew where I could get one.  My email address is [email protected].  I would appreciate any help you could give me.  Thank you.  If anyone else is reading this and has any answers for me I would appreciate that also.

Larry Dillon
I do not have the service

I do not have the service documentation for this model number but you can download one for about 24 bucks from HERE. Open the set and see what type of STK IC it is and then go HERE to find the original IC's. A lot of sites do not carry original replacement but inexpensive factory duds or after market types so be careful where you buy the replacement IC's at. Good Luck

SMorris
Hey thanks alot Larry.  I

Hey thanks alot Larry.  I ordered those parts and hopefully it is a success in me replacing them.  Thanks again, and I will let you know what happens.

One more thing, If you turn

One more thing, If you turn on the set and you still have a problem, look for the small circuit protectors or the pico fuses that supply the 24 volts plus and minus to the convergence IC's. They go out sometimes when the convergence IC's go bad. If you have an electronic copy of the schematic, you can send me a copy and I will tell you what resistors and the fuses to check before you get the IC's so you can order and replace them in case they are bad. If you wish, send the service manual to [email protected].

Larry. I have a Mitsubishi

Larry. I have a Mitsubishi 55 inch TV Model number VS-55601 that is about 10 years old. I have an electronics background so do you think that I would be able to replace these myself and if so, where is the best place to get the IC's. I was also wondering if you might have a repair manual for the tv or if not do you know where I could get one. My email address is [email protected]. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks in advance for any help. Any help from others would be greatly appreciated as well.

Sorry Larry, I just sent a

Sorry Larry, I just sent a post that didn't include the problem. Based on other posts here and elsewhere, I have a convergence problem where all symptoms lead to blown convergence IC's. Woke up this morning and power went out for about 2 hours and later when TV turned on, the entire screen picture appears bowed. Tried convergence settings but picture is still bowed. Similar to a severe pincushion effect. Thanks again. Kevin

Larry Dillon
Are you sure about that model

Are you sure about that model number man? I do not even see it listed?

kwoodford
Larry,

Larry,

I know,  I checked the list and didn't see any matching models.  The TV is a Mitsubishi Model VS-55601 Rear Projection probably 10-12 years old bought at the Big Screen Store.  I'm stopping by there today to see what I can find out and I'll let you know.  I searched via Google and found many references to this model and some with the same problem I have.  If I can't find much info or if its going to take a long time or cost big $ then I will bite the bullet and get a new hi-def TV.  I already have a Infocus Hi-def Projector in my theatre.

Thanks.

Kevin

Larry,

Larry,

Could you please send me [email protected] the documents for replacing the caps on my DM board for a Mitsu WD-52525

Larry Dillon
Kevin, if the set is that old

Kevin, if the set is that old, you may have problems getting parts for it. You could most likely look inside, mounted on a large metal plates and see what the number is on the convergence IC. It should start with STK.

kwoodford
Larry,

Larry,

STK391-020  (Three of them).  Would I expect all 3 to need replacing?  Is there a way to figure that out? No service manual and www.servicemanuals.net doesn't have one.

ound 3 pcs (& only 3 pcs) at www.retrevo.com for about $12 / pc.  Any ideas? It would be nice if I only needed to replace 1 instead of all three.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Kevin

Larry,

Larry,

I found thousands of these things from $6 to $12.  Now the decision is whether to go ahead and try fixing it myself.  I've been in the electronis business for nearly 25 years from assembler to owning my own company. Of course I'd love to buy a new 52" LCD but I guess I can try this first. Are there any other parts that I should look at in that circuit.  Also, why is this so common? What causes this to occur?

If you have or know where I can get any additional info to tell me how to determine if 1 or all are bad and anything else that could have gone with it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Kevin

NO NO NO!, Those are not the

NO NO NO!, Those are not the original Sanyo IC's for that price. Those are cheap aftermarket or factory rejects. Go HERE and find the original IC's you need. It is not worth the trouble when you go cheap.

Larry,

Larry,

I have a wt-42311 model Mitsubishi that went out on me last weekend.  let me give you the whole run down of what had happened.  Me and a friend were playing X-Box 360 on this tv.  well i kept noticing that everytime we changed the channel it kept coming up "Component 1- standard 480".  Well to fix this problem we went into the X-Box 360 set up and changed it to the 1080.  when we did this the tv flashed ( like a computer monitor would do when changing the settings) and just went off.  When we turned it back on it just clicked right back off. Well we did the built in diagnostics button routine and it gave us the 4 light envy!  2 blinks a pause then 2 more blinks.  We looked on line and found the replacement convergence kit ( the two STK392-110 Chips)  ordered it and it came in.  we replaced them tonight and still have the same problemn.  I had noticed it seemed a lot of people have been having this blinking light problem and you seem to be the only man with the answers.  i know my soldering is good ( i calibrate and repair electronics daily) and i dont have any schematics for this thing.  If there is anything you can help me with that would be great.  It seems a lot of people are having troubles like this.  What is the best thing you can tell me.  And by the way,  where is the reset button on this tv cause i cannot find it.  I am pretty close to saying it doesn't have one.  Thanks in advance.

I am told by my buds at

I am told by my buds at Mitsubishi that this model does not have a DM board. you will need to check the small fuses mounted in the switch mode power supply. I also do not have this service manual.
