My MP3 Player Won't Play WMA Files

A TechLore "Ask the Experts" Question...

Question:

I have a 1GB Sandisk digital audio player. When I try to play my WMA files on it, they will not play. It will only play MP3 files. All of my songs on my player are from my CDs, so why won't my MP3 player play them? Why are some of them WMA and others MP3 files?

Tech Toys everyone should own - USB thumb drive

If you work on multiple computers, and want to carry files around with you OR need a quick backup storage...

My favorite toy is the portable USB thumb drives. They are getting cheaper and hold more information all of the time.

If you are looking to backup your photos and music, I would go to something larger and less portable. They now have reasonable, external, USB hard drives which are a better solution for that.

Many of your MP3 solutions can serve in this capacity as well.

One of the things I like about my Sony camera is that it is reconized by the computer as a portable drive, so you can copy files both to it and from it without needing any special software.

Answer:

There are three ways to transfer music onto the player:

1. Drag and drop with Windows Explorer
2. MusicMatch Software
3. Windows Media Player 10

Before you can begin playing songs on the Lyra Jukebox, there are a few steps that you have to complete.

MP3 player comparison

I was going to write about cameras today, but I have spent the last few days buying and playing with MP3 players.

Currently, each member of my familly (except Kitty and Eli - the dogs) has an MP3 player.

They are all different types and brands, so I thought I would do a comparison.

I currently am using an Ipod shuffle on loan from tech lore.

Yesterday my youngest son bought a Sony network walkman.(With his birthday money, he turned 13 on Thursday - happy birthday Matt :-)

Josh, my oldest (14) has my old player, a RIO sport.

Mike, my husband, uses his pocket PC, a dell axim.

I will be buying one in the next few weeks for myself, and probably will buy a Sony.

Could All Handheld TV's be Rendered Useless?

When I go cruising around the city, I can see people sitting at bus stations, coffee shops, and other spots with their eyes glued to a handheld TV. Then it dawned on me. Buying a handheld right now could be a horrible idea.

My new iPod Shuffle

I just received a 512 MB iPod Shuffle and after having it a week, I can say that, with a few modifications, I would be ready to replace my iPod Mini 4GB with it.

Re-read that last paragraph again. I'll wait. Done? Good.

Now, for those of you who don't know, the iPod Shuffle is a flash based, screen-less version of the iPod. It comes in two sizes: 512 MB & 1GB.
