larry, finished replacing the caps on the DM board from my Mitsubishi WS-55613 this afternoon. Could I possibly get a copy of the servce manual for this set to perform the cleaning you had recommended earlier?
larry, my email is [email protected]. Please send me everything(instructions) i need to start fixing this tv. And if there is such a thing, I also need instruction how to access the dm board! Actually I didn't think you'd see my post since everybody is asking for the same thing. Thanks for everything!
Larry Dillon said: Yes it does. If you want the detailed version with pictures and things, leave your e-mail and I would be more then happy to send it to you. Good Luck with this repair and let us know how you make out with this TV set.
Larry, would you mind sending me Service Manual for the MIT WS-55813. Having same problem with blinking light. Could you also send the lamp cleaning instructions as well? My email address is [email protected]
Larry Dillon said: Good To hear you fixed your TV set. The factory service manual is on its way.
Larry, the service manual for the Mitsubishi WS-55613 never did come thru. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thanks again, I'm really looking forward to buttoning this thing back up to see if my repair took, but I'd like to do a thorough cleaning first.
P.S. They sure use an industrial heat resistant solder at Mitsu huh?
CWhite, slacker promised to send me a copy of the service manual last week after I helped him save a butt load of cash on their TV set repair, but still have not received a copy. Hench the name maybe? How soon those you help forget those who helped YOU!. I did just purchace a copy, so I will send you a copy and also send you the different DM repairs. One should be for your TV set. Good Luck
Larry Dillon said: Did you download pando? You have to go to pando.com to open the file I sent to you twice already. It is a free download.
Larry, I have not received anything at [email protected] concerning the service maual for WS-55613, but other e-mails are coming thru just fine. I did download pando as you suggested. Not sure what the problem might be but another address is [email protected] . I really appreciate this.
Sorry to be a pain in the butt for you but i to have the same problem with my WS55613 tv and can't afford to have someone fix it for me so I'm going to give it a try. Can you please send me the info also?
Hi, I think I have a similar problem discussed in this thread. I have a mitsubishi WS-55515 that is not even 3 years old. When I turn on the TV, the green light blinks for a while before the TV loads the input that was used last. However, once something shows up on the screen, I am unable to press any buttons on the remote or on the front panel to change the input to anything else. We called a repairman and he told us that the DM module is defective and a replacement would cost $400 with $300 labor. Is there anything that I can do to replace this myself?
I have a WS-55613 I however don't have the blinking light of death syptom. Whats happening is that the set powers up, after a few minutes it powers down with no apperant reason, the green light stays on however. I have no picture or audio, can't seem to find a real service manual so I can make the repairs myself. I have no time to take the boards into work to trouble shoot on the huntron. What I really need is some schematics if anybody knows how to obtain them. My e-mail is [email protected]
Well I finally fixed my tv. I have a ws-55859 with the blinking light issue. I replaced all 7 caps on my dm power board. After all that work blinking was even worse. Whats up?? I went through entire tv checking every connection, nothing out of order,no effect. Checked all solder joints with ohm meter all showed continuity.
Just before I was going to buy a new tv I decided to check my work one last time. Everything looked perfect. But just in case I resoldered each capacitor. I noticed resin on the board so I carefully cleaned the board with a brush and electronic cleaner. Put it all back together and wamo fixed!!
I don't know if I had a bad joint or the leftover residue from soldering gave me a bad job but I quess to bottom line is it is fixed.
Lesson is check your work!! Make sure board is clean and solders are good. Also that you have not oversoldered and either damaged board or crossed circuit paths.
Another Mitsubishi WS-55613 with the blinking light problem, would you please send the article with photos to me at: [email protected]. Have soldering and technical background. Thanks in advance.
Glad to have found this site... Larry I hope you can send me the article/document with pics for the WS-55613 blinking light issue. This happened to the set about 6 months ago. Somehow it turned back on for a while, but now we are experiencing it again. My email address is: [email protected]
My neighbor handles electronics (soldering etc) so I will be having him assist me - your instructions will be a blessing though!
Larry, could you please send me the service manual for 55613, its always good to have [email protected] . I'm actually having an issue where there are faint horizontal lines that move vertially. I'm not sure if the DM caps have anything to do with it but i took the tv apart tonight and saw that i need to replace them anyway. If you have any idea what causes the horizontal lines let me know. They just started and can usually be seen on black background or on the menu screens when they are on.
Jason I will be sending you the informationn you need for your TV set. Hope it helps. I will also send you the factory service manual so you can clean and tweek your TV set after you save a ton of cash repairing it. Good Luck
WOW....I just happened across this on the web. We are trying to sell our broken WS-55613 for next to NOTHING because of the blinking light of death!!! Horribly frustrating since we had the TV for a year and then it quit and do not have the money to replace what we thought was a board!! Can you PLEASE send me the information on the fix. I have a good friend with electronics and soldering experience and MAYBE, just maybe I can have my TV back and get this damn 27" out of my living room!!! Thank you SO MUCH for the help!!!
Larry my WS 55859 powers up with no video for about a minute, than restarts itself with the flashing green light, there is sound however, could it be the same problem ???the repairman came out said there was liquid damage to the signal board and that mitsubitsi no longer manufactures it,we paid $3000 or more for the set about 4 years ago it has the hi def tuner firewire etc ,would like to repair instead of replace if at all possible, any help suggestions or advice are deeply appreciated, could you please send the word doc to [email protected] with the pics to replace the capacitors,I work on computers at work and could probably solder them. Thanks in advance any input you have ,Mulls
Is there a way I could check that it is the signal board???? is it possible to clean or repair it ??? the video did come on once but only only once is there a diagram of a ws 55859 55" available??? I can see no obvious damage on the board below the yokes any hope????In any event thank you for your response and time, Have a great day!!!!
I am sorry but I do not have the service manual for this model of TV set. You can download one from HERE The signal board may be able to be repaired if it is done in a timely fashion. What happens most of the time, the board will corrode and this will ruin the board. You could be lucky enough to pull the board out, clean it with soap and water really well and let the board dry out really well, like for at least a few days AFTER you make sure all the moisture is off the board, reinstall it and it might just work. I have had this happen in several cases. BUT then you still have the issue of the leaky tube. You will have to replace the tube. This is not going to be cheap I'm afraid. Once again Good Luck
Thanks for the kind words Slacker (feels strange calling someone "Slacker," like I'm saying something derogatory).
slacker, a copy of the service manual would be great man. Please send to [email protected]
wes, where am I suppose to send the documents to?

If the tubes leaked, the signal board is damaged and this repair of the DM board is not going to help. Sorry.
