I received your detailed Word Document just an hour ago with step by step instructions and actual photos and close-ups of the DM replacement procedure. You made it so simple, even a child can follow it. ÂÂ
I wish all service manuals were as lucid and self explanatory. ÂÂ
You have done a remarkable job with this document. I read through it, followed each step and got my DM module out in just under 30 minutes. I could never have mustered the courage doing this myself just by reading the Service Manual. You mention a lot of extra steps and details that are left out in the Service Manual. ÂÂ
Your document is a lifesaver for non-technical people. ÂÂ
Just as you have shown in your pictures, I found the culprits right away. I too had these same 4 bulging Capacitors. They looked exactly like the ones you encountered. Without being able to compare with your pictures, I would never have guessed that the capacitors were dead. The bulge on the top face is very subtle. ÂÂ
I am so thankful I found this site and your helpful instructions. ÂÂ
The DM Module replacement through Mitsubishi would have cost me around $1200. All for the cost of replacing 4 capacitors totaling less than $6. ÂÂ
Craig Rounds from the Home Theater Spot Forum has offered to help me with replacing the 4 capacitors. I will be shipping the DM board out to him. I will take your advice and not attempt the soldering job myself. I have no experience with the soldering iron. The circuit is pretty dense. This requires precision skills. ÂÂ
Thank you once again Larry for being such a helpful person and sharing your expertise with all of us in this forum. ÂÂ
Best regards, ÂÂ
Tapas  ÂÂ
Larry and all that can help It seems that the Mitsubishi "green light of death" has struck again. But it looks as though there is a fix.. I took my T.V. to the local repair shop and the tech. told me that it is the DM board. After searching the net i came across this board and was hoping that maybe Larry or someone that has the directions could email them to me so that I don't have to pay out almost 900.00$$$$ My email is [email protected] any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance for your help and time in this matter Dan Hook
ag937 and Dan, I have sent you out the complete repair package with the directions for a number of model numbers. Go through all the info I sent you and see what suites you and your set. Take the back off your set and look at the pictures and decide what you need to follow. The main document with the direction is used on most DM boards. If you have a different model number, then the one I sent, please let me know via e-mail. Good Luck
Mr Larry I also have the issue with the TV (THE GREAT MITSUBISHI WS55513) Won't turn on and the green light is blinking. I am a disabled guy I don't have the money to get a technician to come out. Can you please send me the pictures also for this TV
Mr. Larry I have taken the back off and taken the DM off. I see the capacitors but they say 1000mf and 16v. I purchase the ones from Radio shack and they say 1000mf and 35v.
Replace them, you have to know how to solder, if you do not, please take the board and the caps to a pro and let them do them for you. They should not charge you that much to replace them. There is a negitive and a positive on these capacitors. If you put the caps in wrong, you will distroy the board. This mistake will then cost you 1000 bucks. PLEASE if you do not know what you are doing, find someone who does. You get one shot at this.

I have put in the capacitors and put everything back together. I have one wire that says ESI
that is leading to the speakers I don't see where it hooks to the board. Can you help.
Could you please email me the detailed instructions with pictures on how to remove the DM Module? I have a Mitsubishi WS-55613 TV with the constant blinking green LED problem.
I have removed the back cover of the TV but I am not sure how to slide back the light box so that I could access the DM shield. Your instructions with pictures will be of great help to me.
I have the geen LED problem also. if possible could you send me the instructions and pictures on how to remove the DM module and what ever else i need to check. My email is [email protected]
Larry Dillon said: Moviecouple, I apologize I was not able to get home soon enough to send you the DM board fix, but I am glad though someone who i had sent it to previously, was kind enough to do so on my behalf. That's great you were able to have the capacitors replaced! This document has saved countless people tons of cash. Although this fix will not help every ones Mitsubishi TV set with a blinking light, it does for about 70% of them. Spread the word of techlore.com to all of your neighbors a friends
I have the blinking light no picture or sound problem on my WS 55613. I would appreciate if you could send me the solution to fix.
i have a ws55613 that i picked up while i worked at ultimate Electronics. i have it plugged into a hts5100 by monster. the other day i came home from work and it was a blinking green light. i hoping that the fix that you have will help. can you send me the info to get this done? Thanks Tim
Larry, thanks for the instructions, I received them, ordered the Capacitors (ouch don't try overnight delivers $34). Replaced the caps, reconnected all the connectors, and put everything back together. The blinking green light is still blinking :(( I know I installed the caps with the correct polarity.
SAMe, There are two small fuses on the solder side of the board. These are surface mounted fuses. They are marked as F9B00 and F9B02. Make sure these are good. I have also sent out the info to all who asked so far and left an e-mail address. Good Luck
Hey Larry, 3 fuses of 125V 4A measure 0.5 ohms each... so I guess all good.. Is it possible that the problem maybe outside the DM module? Catalytic caps look good on the different circuit boards.
Is the "ON" switch a posibility? or the reset circuit? I am out of ideas, and will wait for your response before I call the repair man for an estimate. Thanks for all the help you have provided so far.
SAM, Check the voltage going into the DM board. Also double check and make sure the DM IS plugged in all the way to the mother board. Sometimes I have had where the DM looked like it was in the sockets all the way, but it was not.
I have a 55613 with a blinking light. I turned the TV on and everything was fine and suddenly the on screen device menu came on and was running crazy I could not control the TV with the remote or manually. I unpluged and replugged the TV got nothing but a blinking light. Tried the reset and still just a blinking light that goes out after about a minute but the TV will not turn on manually or by remote I would like to try fixing it myself before I pay someone to fix it. Could you please send me the instruction on how to fix this.
Larry, Finally it works woooooo hoooooo, and you were absolutely correct, DM was not getting the power because when I slide the DM board back thru the guide I think the PCB did not go in it's guide and was shorting to the metal frame.
One last question before I send my appreciation, do you think I need to re-calibrate the colors after removing the TV guts out and resetting it so many times? The picture looks pretty good now as is. But does not seem to be as vivid of colors as when we first purchased the TV.
CAN YOU REALLY HELP PEOPLE WITH THEIR TV'S BECAUSE I REALLY DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A GREEN BLINKING LIGHT ON MODEL 55813 BUT I JUST READ FROM PAGE 1 THRU 18 OF THIS WEBSITE AND ITS THE SAME PEOPLE POSTING EVERYTIME!!!!! LIKE SAMe WHO POSTED YESTERDAY AND ALSO IN MAY 2007. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP. CAN YOU PLEASE SEND ME THE PICTURES AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO POSSIBLY FIX THE DEADLY BLINKING GREEN LIGHT PROBLEM AND YOU'LL MAKE A BELIEVER OUT OF ME AND I WILL SING YOUR PRAISES. MY EMAIL IS [email protected]. THANKS
Sam, open the set and clean the mirrors and lens. See if that brightens her up! I'm sure it will. am glad to hear you listen well. I have heard from maybe 35 or so people who checked their plug connections after and redid them ansd all is well. Congrats!
Jammie, My problems with this TV started 2 weeks ago, I am not the same person who posted in May. Without Larry's help I know I would have to either chuck $600-$1000 to have someone do the repairs or toss the TV in the trash because it's not worth repairing.
Larry does help people and I am so greatful to him. I would not recommend doing this yourself if you have not played around with electronics and or have not used a soldering iron. For me it was a challenge and $$ saving. I knew I can do it, and the fact you found this forum, I think you can do it too.
Janice, this is no scam, if the capacitors are bad in your TV set, this should fix the problem as long as you follow the directions and take things apart and put them back correctly. You will need to know how to solder though. If you can get the DM board out and do not know how to solder, contact me via e-mail. The peeps who are posted a few times where having some problems, but most get worked out in due time. Good Luck
