I replaced ten bad 1000ufs caps and put everything back together with the exception of some left over screws. However, the tv won't turn on & all I get is a flashing status light. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Hey Larry,
Guess what? I have a WD52525 with a blinking light.
Could you send me the manual on how to repair the blinking
light problem?
Thanks,
Larry Lyons
I have a Mitsubishi WD52525 and it worked perfectly until a month or two ago. The red lamp light was blinking. I purchased a new lamp and installed it. I turn on the TV now and I hear static but there is no picture. The bulb is on cause I can see it on. I hear fans going as well. It stays this way for a little while and then cuts off completely and the RED lamp light stays on steady. What could the problem be??

First I wanted to thanks Bishop-Hill for all the files he sent to me and the encourage to keep me going.
Finally I got my WD 52525 going again...
I replaced all the 16 V 1000uf I can find with 25v 1000uf.
Also replaced the 2 10V 3300uf with 50V 3300uf and it worked!!
With not much experience I called a friend of mine and he told me the voltage didn't make any difference only the uf did, so I tried and whem turned the TV on, moved out of the way just in case and I was really surprised when I saw the tv screen with an image!!!!
I was given a 52525 and it has a blinking green light, it is steady non stop, not in any type of sequence, so in reading the posts from te last 2 years it seems that there are alot of these problems out there, can someone send me the direction on how to fix and or replace the parts to get this t back up and running. Thanks Kyle [email protected]

Chances are it's a few blown capacitors somewhere in the sandwich of circuit boards.
You'll have to take it apart and find them, take note of their specifications (votlage, capacity, etc.), find some replacements online, and swap the bad ones with the new ones.
I'd suggest getting some caps that are a little bit more tolerant to voltages, as I have a feeling that may be the main problem with these TV's. I replaced my blown 16v ones with 25v's.
ok so i tool the tv apart and have the board out and it looks like the one at the top of the posting page, so how do i test to see which ones are bad? do i leave it all connected and plug the tv in and the test both side of the conductor or how does this work. Im a construction worker and can build a bridge or a high rise but i dont know crap about electronics.
I have been looking at capacitors and i see that 2 of them are bulged or expanded on the top where there is a three way cross type thing, does this mean that those 2 are bad, all of the rest of them on the board are flat or a little indented does this mean anything?
ok so now the problem seems to have changed, i switched out the 16v 1000 for 35v 1000 the only ones i could find at the store, so i then plugged the tv in and the is a very loud screaching noise and then an orange/red colored light begins to flash on the power button. what is wrong now can anyone suggest something other then grabbing a ball bat and putting it out of my misery. thank you
I have WD-62525 with BLOD, have got Service Manual & instructions to replace caps, but photos & instructions are a great deal different than what I'm seeing in my set.
Any chance there is an instruction specifically for my WD-62525 or something that very closely resembles it?
Today is a good day. I got my new 3300uF caps in the mail today and I changed them out during my lunch break. Although I havenÂ’t put it back together the TV is working just fine. IÂ’m not sure if IÂ’m going to put the heat shields back in b/c they seem to restrict the air flow big time. I want to thank Larry for all of his help & Joe1224 for his good ideas.
ok so i have taken it all apart again to make sure it is all hooked up correctly and i have now put it back together and it doesnt make any noise now when i turn it on but the fan on top of the board housing turns on for a second and then i hear a click and it goes off and then the orange/red light starts to blink. Do i need to continue replacing the other capacitors until something works or is it something different.
Hi Larry, read your replies to my fellow green light of death compadres. I have a ww-55589 mitsu hd tv and the green light is blinking. tv was working, turn it off and when i went to turn it on 2hrs later i got the green light. i have replaced the seven capacitors with 1000uh, 25v,105c capacitors reinstalled and still green light. I see one fuse on the main board and it checked ok. are there more fuses and how would i check the power supply. after reading all i can on this problem, it seem the system is in safty mode to protect other components. would you , could you please send me the wiring diagrams and sevice manual to [email protected]. in this economy,i have to try to fix everything myself, like the good old days, before the advent of just replacing parts. i have read alot of your threads and you seem to be very knoledgable about this problem. thank you Vince(bearer of the green light of death)lol.
if they are bulged at all they need to be changed. , indenteda little is normal if it is making a loud squeling noise after you replaced caps you probably installed the wrong vailue or installed the caps in wrong or backwords
Larry D
if you replaced all the caps in the DM and the fuses are good and the set still has a blinking green light your DM is probably toast and unfortunately they are no longer available.
i replaced all the caps and still has a blinking green light so cut the orange wire on the FC counter and put a switch in between it i plug my set in wate for the green lite to stop flip the switch to on and turn my tv on and it been working grate love it for free lol thanks for all your help
Larry, Several post ago you suggested the caps could be put in backwords. I just went to a lot of work getting this sandwiched DM board out, any suggestions or comments, even on some of the other parts that could be checked while this thing is appart? What's this about installing a switch mentioned reciently?
can someone send me the service manual or tell me how to remove the boards?
I removed the rear panel with the fan, taken out every screw on the board. However, the boards are not coming out. They seem to be fixed by clips or some screws in the back which I can't see.
Hey Larry, I'm yet another poor unfortunate soul who recently joined the "Blinking Green Light" from hell club. I am also sincerely requesting any repair information, service manuals, pictures, etc on the Mits WD-52525 DLP.
Hello Larry. I also have a Mitsubishi WD-52525 that has the blinking green timer light problem. Could I please get a copy of the DM board repair instructions emailed to me? Thank you so much
I have Mitsibushi WD-62525 that has a fast blimking gtrrn timer indicator and set will not power on; I have researched this problem on the internet and I frequently see where this seems to be a common problem. What percentage of blinking green light problems end up being fixed by replacing the four 1000 uf
capacitors on the DM pwb? My set is 4.5 years old and I am worried about the future of this tv if mitsubishi has used many of these prone to fail capicitors thru-out the chassis. In your opinion is the repair worth doing when a new set sells for around $1500,00. Thanks for your info.
We replaced the caps on the power board and the TV started woring again. Lasted about 1-1/2 months then stoped. Pulled the boards and found some small caps on another board were blown. Replaced those and we are back running again with not problems for a month now.
The manufacture tells me the green light will come on and prevent the tv from going in further for servicing. I have owned the rv about 4 yrs and according to them, I should have had it serviced at around 2-3 yrs. So Can I be a creep and ask for a copy of the manual also?
Also what a great guy you are for helping us all out
