I have the same problem with Mitsubishi Model WS-73517, Ser# 100291. After initial power up with the green light blinking, hit Power button and green light blinks four times and then set does nothing. Please send instructions to [email protected]
Same problem with my WS-65613. Actually fixed this three years ago for about $600. Now it's out again, and I don't have the money for repairs or a new TV. Hitting it really hard financially right now.
I just start having the same problem like most of you with the green blinking light on my WS-55613 TV. I have some electronic knowledge however I am unsure of the location of the parts to replace, could someone please send me a set of repair instruction that was successful for you, Thanks in advanced
One more question. I am waiting on the capacitors to arrive today, and my brother calls me to tell me that working on my television set could get me electrocuted - even if it is unplugged.
Trina,You could if your working on the high voltage circuit. or the main power supply But on the circuit your working on,has only 6 volts so It will not harm you unplugged., one more favor I have to ask of you, could you please take as many digital pictures you can as you take off the back of the set so I can improve the do it yourself guide? If you do please forward them to me at [email protected] you need any asistance please let me know. oh also I need the mode of the set your working on.
Blinking light prob with dark screen.....It blinks about three times and then quits and when i unplug and retry, the same thing happens...this is on a RCA model D56W20, service# D56w20byx2.
Thanks, please send info for what to repair

Larry, I have the same blinking green light problem with my WS-65813. Could you please send me the R&R cap replacement instructions?
Thanks, [email protected]
Larry, I have a WS-65813. My father used your guide to repair the unit after he picked it up from a friend. Luckily he just got a slimmer projection unit, so he gave me the repaired unit.
I have enjoyed the tv now for about 8 months. It has cut off a few times during heavy use. Usually the entire tv shuts down with the typical blinking green light. Usually 15 to 20 min passes and the light stops blinking and goes out. the tv can then be used as normal. I think this is normal.
However recently (last two weeks), the tv has been cutting off in a different way. I will try to be as detailed as possible.
I have 4 prefrials connected to the tv. Cable(standard coax signal, no HD, no digital) plugged into ANT-A (ANT-B does not seem to work/receive signal), XBOX360 plugged into COMP-1, a Wii plugged into COMPT-2, and a DVD plugged into INPUT-1.
The issue only affects the DVD input and the Cable input.
After 1 hour of use the tv begins to cut off every 15 to 20 minutes.
The tv picture goes blank, however the green light remains solid. Also the device menu, volume, even channel information still shows up clear.
I can't change devices and bring the picture back; the unit must be shut down.
But the unit will power right back up with clear picture. But then 15 min later the picture goes out again. So now we are left with trying to time it by shutting down during commercials, and it works so our shows aren't interrupted but......
Also note that the XBOX and the Wii never have this issue. I can shoot them up for hours with no shut downs. I opened the back of the unit and vacuumed the dust from the heat sinks. It was not that bad in there, I have seen much worse. about a 5 to 6 on the dusty scale.
Hello. I have a ws65909 with the flashing light after a power flash. Can you please send me all the information needed to fix the problem. Thanks. [email protected]
Has anyone explored legal action against Mitsubishi on this issue?
Just cruising the internet on the subject gives me the impression that these junk Tv's at around $2400 a copy represent millions of dollars that consumers have been bilked for. Just this sight seems to represent hundreds of affected consumers.
$2400??? That is todays market price. Many bought their boat anchor behemoths 2+ years ago. My 52" was in the mid $4k range. And like any technology, just this week 60" advertised for $1599. Regardless, I want to know same regarding legal action.
After all, clean room frigid conditions where TV and electronics are tested are NOT the norm for guessing 99% of consumers. Many TVs sit against walls or better - in entertainment centers/cabinets, many have kiddos and pets, numerous dust shedding family members, and you get the idea. This is a DESIGN FLAW and SHOULD NOT be induced on the consumer.
Neighbor of mine this week lost her Sony 42" rear projection less than 2 year old TV to the 'green screen'. According to Sony, the optical block went South. Additionally, the neighbor is a Sr Citizen, handicapped and on disability. I looked at the problem and delivered the bad news which on her fixed income, was not welcome and brought tears.
Sony needed the Serial Number which she could not get do to her physical limitations. Whats incredible, local Sony shop sent Tech out to retrieve Serial number before any repairs or parts ordered. Sony CSR and Techs said there is known problem and is repairing the problem FREE under WARRANTY in her home. Woo Hoo Sony!!! A company taking responsibility for their actions and poor design... Thank You Sony!
Darn the Mitsubishi's incredible contrast and better picture (my opinion), but that Sony is looking darn good right now!
Please contact me at [email protected] should any one know of legal action being pursued or in progress. Thank you.
Hi Larry,
I have a 65" mitsubishi diamond screen with built in HDTV tuner and been experneicing the green blinking light. I was told to replace the convergence chip and some fuses? Can you please guide me with instructions and pictures. Or send me a link if you have created one since many people are asking?
Larry,
I found your forum with google search and I was amazed at the help you have been providing for years now!! I started with the first post which was several years old, and after about 10 pages I jump to the end so I make sure you were still helping and sending info.
I am looking at several 65' Mitsubishi on craigslist and each is a different model number. So until I buy one I don't know what model I will need info for. But I just wanted to say thanks ahead of time for such a great forum!!
I know getting a used 65' Mitsubishi I will be here sooner or later to repair it! And I now feel more comfortable about getting a used one knowing there is a resource like your forum, and I really thank you for that!!
I am currently waiting on email replies for model numbers for 2 of the 3 postings. Here is one I do know: WS-65908.
Reading through your forum I am sure I will have the green blinking light problem soon after my purchase! So I wanted to study up on being able to repair it myself. I have a good basic electronics skills, and with a schematic I can troubleshoot and do most board repairs.
Could I get a copy of the Blinking Green Light problem for the Mitsubishi? From all the postings I read I think this would be a good candidate for an proactive approach instead of reactive. Is it a correct assumption that the upgraded caps prevent it from happening again?
Larry,
my email is [email protected]
I sent you a PM, not sure if you got it, but the short version is I was wondering if you may also have any info for repairing a Zenith PVR6069RK?
I think the Mitsubishi 65" WS-65908 is the one I am getting.
Thank you for any info you can provide,
Richard
Larry,
Sorry for the miss understanding, I was including the earlier posting because I had posted my email for you to send it too, and then you asked were to send it.
I had also posted that I was interested in getting a copy of the blinking green light problem for a model I was about to purchase just in case it ended up having the same problem.
After reading so many posts about so many different models of Mitsubishi's getting a blinking green light problem. And it was almost always the caps needing replaced. And if I understood correctly, the caps being used to replace were a upgrade to what was originally used.
So I thought before they went bad, it would be best to replace and upgrade them soon as possible after buying the working Mitsubishi 65" WS-65908 I am trying to buy to prevent it from having the blinking green light problem. This model is so old I think it will be only a matter of time before I will have to start working on it.
So if you could send me info on replacing the 3 or 4 caps that is the most common problem with the blinking green light on the DM board, and if you have a service manual for the WS-65908. I did try the link you had posted for ordering service manuals, but when I searched for the Mitsubishi WS-65908 to purchase and download, it said it was not found. I did send them a email to see if maybe it is just not available online, but no response yet.
But even with a service manual, any extra info would be helpful. So again, sorry for any confusion. I hope this helps you in seeing if there is any info you may be able to send me about replacing caps that cause the blinking green light.
I had my DM module replaced but now I believe that the 9v regulator IC9c25 needs replaced. Is there a tutorial on how to do this? I really don't want to pay someone to do this.
Larry,
My TV worked fine one day, was loaded onto a moving truck by professional movers (as one piece, not disassembled), and at the new house the next day it had the blinking green light.
Is there anything I should try to do to troubleshoot before pursuing the repairs everyone is discussing here?
Otherwise, can you please send me the repair doc for WS65869? My email is [email protected]
Anyone have the problem with your Mitsubishi Big Screen TV where the picture and sound just shut off, yet the TV stays turned on ? We turn it off then the picture and sound come back on again and it's back to normal (until the next time it does it) this could be an hour or 5 minutes. I had to replace the DM board $800 2 years after we got it and now we are having this problem. It's 4 years old and I don't know whether to fix it or just dump it.
We are also having the stupid green lights on our WS-65813. I seem to be seeing that there is a repair for this..could you please email me as well? [email protected]

OK. I replaced the capacitors and placed the DM back in place. Now the TV doesn't even power-up. Any ideas?
