Larry,

It seems you are very knowlegable on the green blinking syndrome.  I too am now a member of this plague.  I have a Mits 52525 and replaced the 4 16v 1000uf caps with 35v 1000uf caps to no avail.  I would be greatly indebted to you if I could get your documents on this issue.  Hopefully it will give me some insight into other options to try.  Let me know what I need to do to get this valuable information.   If you can email them. please email to [email protected].

Thank you in advance,

 Chris

Hi Larry Dillon

Hi Larry Dillon

If possible, can I have the repair information e-mailed to me also to replace the bad capacitors on the Mitsubishi 62825 television. I have the GBLOD disease too.
I heard somwhere thatwhen people buy the Radio Shack capacitors as replacements for the circuit boards, they will not hold up to the high heat this television puts out. Over time, the high heat will make these capacitors fail. I heard someone recommended a certain brand name of the high heat brand capacitors that people need to use when repairing these circuit boards in this television. Have you heard what brand capacitors that people need to use on these circuit boards so they don't use the same ones that came with the television. When these circuit boards are repaired by Mitsubishi, I heard they use the old capacitors that originally came with the televisions when they were new. If you put these capacitors back on the circuit boards to repair them, you end up right back in the same boat with your circuit board on the television going bad again.
If I repair this television once, I don't want to end up going back into this thing for a while.

Larry, my e-mail address is [email protected].

Hi Larry / All,

Hi Larry / All,
Wow. This thread is long and you've stuck with it! Congrats.

I have a WD-62825 with the green blinking light. I replaced the 4 caps on the DM and FMT boards back in May. This took care of the problem for a few months but the light is back now.

I the replaced all caps on the PWB as well as some SMT caps that tested bad with an ESR meter on the FMT. All standby supplies seem to be coming up (only a little high). No high ripple measured.

+/- 15 supply is at ~17
6 volt supply is at 7

The set will boot and fire if I disconnect the 6v supply from the DM, plug it in, wait 15 seconds, and then reapply the 6v line. STRANGE.

Any help would be appreciated (and compensated). I used to do this for a living and would like to help you out if possible.

Guess what CMG?  It's ASSES like you that make people like Larry and I not want to help complete idiots like yourself.  Have you tried to solve this problem or are you just waiting for free handouts?

If you've read this thread you'll see that Larry has severe medical issues.  I / we can only hope that he is faring well.

Instead of paying $6000 for a television, you should work on your education and lessons on how to treat people.

I'm sure a doctor could prescribe a great drug or two for you as well.

Cheers!

You are correct.  I overreacted and I apologize.  I just don't like seeing innocent people treated that way.

Anyway, do you have any thoughts on my comments above?  Would you mind emailing me your notes so I can see if I can learn something from your experience with this chassis?

 Thanks!

Here's all I'm going to say...

Larry is one of the most, if not THE, most helpful and giving individuals I've ever encountered. If
you had been through what he has endured the past year, you'd see how
any derogatory comment toward him is truly in poor taste. He has
earned my, and many others who've been involved here, respect and
admiration a million times over.

You're trying to get help in an online forum, yet insulting those who have the ability to help you. Doesn't that seem a little counterintuitive? Don't you realize that the people who help others in forums like this don't get paid? They're volunteers, fellow members that donate their own time to lend a helping hand, share experiences, and give advice. It's amazing to me that there are people in this world that find reward in helping others, asking for nothing in return. And, at the same time, it sickens me that there are those like yourself, who find pleasure and reward spreading hatred and discontent.

I've already wasted enough time even acknowledging your existence with this post.  I won't ban you for sharing your opinion, no matter how selfish and arrogant it may be.  However, I think I speak for the entire community by saying your comment is unappreciated and your presence here no longer wanted. Please don't come back.

Hi Larry Dillon

Hi Larry Dillon
Thank you for sending me the repair information on the Mitsubishi 62825 television.
I had a problem when I opened it, there was nothing there. It could be a problem on my end, I am not really sure.
Would it be possible to resend the repair information to me one more time.
I am sorry I have to ask again.
My e-mail is [email protected].

And yes Larry I really appreciate a person like you with your electonic skills taking your personal time to help people that are having trouble with these mitsubishi television sets.
I have a lot of respect for you in helping people when mitsubishi won't even step up to the plate and repair these televisions.
Thank you!

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,
I got the zip file and everything came through great.
The reason I did not get the first file you sent, was because I did not have the program from Pando.com.
Thank you so much Larry!
I will let you know how I come out on the self repair.
Thank goodness for people like you that share their knowledge with other people.
Talk to you later.
I hope everything gets repaired ok.

Well my WD-62825 works great

Well my WD-62825 works great besides the blinking F-ing green light. I did buy a 3 year warranty and it was over 2 months ago. If I knew that the TV was going to be as big of pile of Sht, I would have bought a different brand. Waiting for Mitz to get back to me about fixing it at no charge. Good luck. Like to take my $4500.00 dollar Tv down to Irvine and throw it thru there window. JUNK.

I replaced all the

I replaced all the recommended caps on all the boards, no more flashing green light, I now have a flashing yellow status light. Any helpful hints on this?

Larry Dillon
a flashing yellow light

a flashing yellow light usually means that the lamp cover is open or not slosed and locked down properly.

Larry, or Anyone that has some information. I have a WS-65813 Rear Projection Mitsubishi with the green blinking light activated after my baby nephew accidentally flipped the power off switch to my monster home theater filter. I have a great deal of experience working on computers and elctrical components, but no TV experience. I would love to knock this out myself if possible, and I also cannot tell you how thankful I will be for any service manual or info to help me get there. Thank you so very much in advance.
