Yep I think I can help you depending on how handy you are at fixin things. But I will need some place to send the repair documents too. Did you forget? I am good but not a mind reader LOL
Larry, I have a ws-55613 with the green flashing light problem. I have read lots of comments about how you have helped them fix the problem. I was wondering if you can send me the DM fix to help me try to fix the problem? Thanks [email protected]
Hey Larry. I've been reading through the thread and although I've not done too much work with televisions I have a good background in electrical work and soldering... I've opened up the back of the TV but I cannot figure out how to get the DM Board out without completely dismantling other parts. If you could send me a copy of the instructions you've made up it would be greatly appreciated. My e-mail is RetroEvolute (AT) gmail.com.
I have the ws-48511 I have replaced the capacitors in the dm module, still have the same problem. When powered up the green light will flash for 70 seconds then go off. I did the led indicator test and it shows code 22 for short protect. Any ideas?
We've got at WS-55513 that went out on us. Started with the inputs shutting off by themselves while we were watching it. That was fixed at first just by turning the TV off and right back on. Then it started doing it more frequently until we couldn't get a signal at all. It still powered on though. Now we get a blinking green light for a long time, but eventually the TV does turn on. I think this may be the same problem everyone else is having, or at least the same cause. Could you send me the instructions for those capacitors to sifualon (at) sbcglobal (dot) com? I would appreciate it.
We had a technician look at it, and he said the signal board was bad and had to be replaced. He also said that you can't get them anymore, so we are SOL unless this works.
You actually have two problems, One, replace the capacitors in the DM board, second, there is a bad connection most likely on a 9 volt regulator behind the input board ON the signal board. Re solder that and the input problem should be fixed. I will Certainly send you the information to you on both repairs. Good Luck

Oops. I don't think you can send those instructions to the wrong address :P That should have been: sifualon (at) sbcglobal (dot) net. Sorry about that.
It is and you actually have two problem with your set now, one is the four capacitors inside the DM, and I will send to you the directions for that, And If picture is dark or goes dark intermittently with lines and or fuzzy picture or if the screen turns blue and the set shuts off, check IC9C25. Could be bad, or bad connections It is on the signal board. Right behind the input or whatÂ’s called the terminal board. The IC is a BA09FP. This IC supplies 9 volts to the terminal board. Try resolding it first
RetroEvolute here again. I've successfully re-soldered new caps in place of the four old blown out ones. After doing so, I reassembled the television and powered it on. I got visuals and was nice and excited when just less than a minute later the TV turns off again and displays the blinking green lights. But this time, they're not infinite. They turn off after a while like the reset lights do and then I can turn the TV back on again. But it turns on again on it's own. I've checked the continuity across the board, and even powered it on and checked the DC voltage coming out of the caps individually and it appears they're working properly. But, I'm currently at a loss as to why it might be shutting off like it is. Any ideas would be extremely helpful.
Power Saving Mode didn't do much of anything. It was already on Normal and switching it to Low made it turn off a bit quicker perhaps, but it turns off either way.
Hey Larry. Back again, sorry for the delay, the weekend's been fairly busy for me. Anyways, I held down the input (device) and menu button after powering on and it gave me a two digit error... I think.
*BLINK* *BLINK*BLINK* .. *BLINK* *BLINK*BLINK* .. And repeat over and over until the TV turned itself off again. SO, if I'm correct that's an error code '12'? Which would mean that there's apparently no problem. Hm... Unless I had it backwards and there's X-Ray Protect? Any more ideas?
I do not know what to tell you thern man, strat mearuring the b+ voltages, or call im a tech to assist you in the repair of this set. wish I could help you but with so little info, it is a stab into the dark! check the onboard fuses F0A05 and F9A04 and see if they have continuity?
I also have a WS-55613 and the green blinking light use to come on every now and then but a few days ago it started and that is all the set does now. From reading this post it sounds like I need your detailed instructions that somemany have referred to as being the info needed. If you could please send it to [email protected] I would be very thankful.
Does it also include the replacement parts numbers as well???
I too am having this issue can you please send me the detailed instructions for this. On a scale of 1 to 10 could you please also tell me the level of difficulty for the project. I am concerned about the sodering piece. I have the WS-55613.
out of one to ten the repair is about a three or 4 but if you cannot solder it is a 10! Find somone to solder for you as you will get just one chance to fix this and if you mess up the board trying to solder you will or could ruin it. Good Luck!
I have a Ws55859 manufactured Nov 2001 and since a power outage 4 days ago have the dreaded green blinking light. Tried the on/off and umplugged and still flashing green. I would appreciate any help you have as I got this TV without a manual from someone moving out of town and it worked great until the outage. TV was of at the tme prior to the outage and on a surge protector. [email protected]
I did not receive the fix or information not sure if full message went through.
Thanks
Don
My WS-55613 has the "Blinking Green Light". I had a short on the same circut the TV was pluged into, the short caused the breaker to blow. Now on power-up, I just have the green blinking light. Reset button does nothing.
Could you send me the fix and any supporting documents?

Check in the menu settings and see if your set is in what is called the power sving mode. Change it to normal mode and see hoe the set works.

Press the input and the menu button at the same time for a sec or teo and tell me what the timeer light flashes, a two digit code?

Hello All.
Love the read. I got through about 200 posts. I want to read the rest.
Looking for the tech sheet on the DM/Capacitor fix.
You guys and gals rock!
My sister is an electronic component engineer. She should have no trouble soldering those caps.
Email: [email protected]
By the way, the TV was given to me!
