Television and Home Theater

I use an eMac with ITunes to store all of my music and then run Slim Server to send my music to a Squeezebox over Ethernet. I like the way it has worked so far, but we are going put speakers on the deck and they are going to be wired into the system that came with the house. Inputs are down in the basement. I would like to control what goes out the deck from the first floor. I don't really want to buy another computer to control the Slim Server in the basement.

Any suggestions?

Hitachi CT3180B TV recently started scrolling through channels. Cannot maintain any single channel for more than a few minutes. TV is connected to Cable. Cable company says its a TV problem. Recently tried to program the TV channels into an Onkyo universal remote from the TV remote; it didn't work. How do I stop the channels from scrolling?

I am working with a Magnavox projection TV, model 7p5433, ptv775 which when power is turned on the power light come on then goes back off, of course there is no raster or sound, please advise,
