Networked Audio Distribution (Slim Server and Squeezebox)

I use an eMac with ITunes to store all of my music and then run Slim Server to send my music to a Squeezebox over Ethernet. I like the way it has worked so far, but we are going put speakers on the deck and they are going to be wired into the system that came with the house. Inputs are down in the basement. I would like to control what goes out the deck from the first floor. I don't really want to buy another computer to control the Slim Server in the basement.

Any suggestions?

I would like to help but I'm

I would like to help but I'm not sure I have enough information. If I understand you correctly, the eMac is the only computer and is currently in the basement. You want to control the Squeezebox which also has to be in the basement from the first floor/deck but don't have another computer on the first floor?

Do you not want to buy any other equipment or just not spring for another computer? Does the solution need to use the Squeezebox/SlimServer or can you opt for something like the Airport Express?

Actually a lot of this has

Actually a lot of this has worked itself out. I was trying to avoid having to buying an amplifier. As it turns out I am going to have to.

We had our deck prewired by the company that built the house. This is nooked up to the whole house audio. We are now going to put the speakers in and I was trying to not have to buy an amp if I didn't have to.

I don't currently have an amp, just the Squeezeboxes. But I am going to get the amp, then hook the Squeezebox to it and then the deck can pick it up.

I am sorry if I wasn't clear :>
