Thanks for the files. I got the caps replaced and put the DM back on but it didnt fix it. I still have the blinking light. However, now i have clicking sound that is coming from the middle of the middle board. click, click, click and it is almost simultaneous with the blinking light. I also didnt see no grounding cable. can it be because grounding cable is not connected ?
I also found out that on the DM board on the right very bottom corner there are two black little square tab looking things. I dont know what they are but one of them is kind a loose almost broken. do you know what that is ? would that also cause the blinking ?
Hey bob, I sent the info you requested. I hope this helps you fix your TV set, as this fix does help maybe 65 to 70% of the peeps but they still have trouble sometimes. Good Luck and let us know if this helps you.
Mae, I am not sure what your problem is. I need a little more info. iIdo not understand what you mean by a little twitch? Please give a little better description.

Thanks Larry! Great manual and detailed/color photos/instructions. If I can't fix it now it can't be fixed!! I'll give you an update soon!

Larry, I'm sorry to be so unclear. I don't know what to compare it too. The picture should be constant and clear without movement except for normal movement of the action, but along a horizontal line there is movement, sometimes small and it gets bigger and bigger, almost like static or reception interference in a 10 or 15 inch segment on the screen. I just don't know how to better discribe it. It happens in different parts of the screen. Try this: Take your hands, palms down, one on top of the other and quickly rub them back and forth against each other about a half inch and for just a second or two. Imagine a segment of the picture doing the same thing. Or, have you ever taken a picture with a camara that has split image focusing? When it is out of focus a horizontal line, or a pole would not be a straight vertical line. To focus you line it up. If you adjust the lens back and forth it shows movement. Well it's like that. It seems to get worse and worse and then the picture shuts off but the green light remains on solid, not on and off. I have had the on and off thing happen in the past but this problems seems unrelated to that.
Mae, it shounds like a bad element in the light engine maybe? If it is so intermittant, I am thinking, maybe even a bad connection or a bad plug connection. hard to say with really intermittant problems. Sorry I could not be of more assistance.
Can someone help me out? I am having the same problem as everyone, my ws-55813 keps blinking when i turn it on. No sound or picture. I reset nothing. Can someone send me the service manual for this model. my email is [email protected] Can someone explain also what could be wrong
I replaced the dm module caps but still no picture or sound. Still turns off after hitting power button. I am getting 2 blinks a pause then 4 blinks. Can someone tell me what this error code means? I have a ws-55813

Great news! The 4 cap fix worked like a charm!! The old caps were puffed out at the ends. $12 in new caps and a solder wick from Radio Shack and a friend that knows how to solder and its back to wide screen again!! Larry, thanks a ton for the detailed info, help, and coaching! Much appreciated!! The $1200 feels better in my bank account for sure!!
Tigerbate, I sent you out the info you requested. I also sent you out the revision in case your set does not look like the one in the pictures. It will show you how to remove the DM board in case your set has a light engine. This repair helps about 70% of the time. There could also be a problem in the power supply of the TV set. Double check your work after replacing the capacitors inside the DM board and make sure the capacitors are installed correctly. Good Luck and don't forget to get back with us to report how you made out with this repair.
mariog, look at the power supply board on the right hand side for any swollen caps and double check the the work you did on the DM board. Your error code indicates there is a vertical deflection problem. If you unplug the TV set and wait about 5 minutes, what does the light do? If the light blinks fast for about 60 to 70 seconds, this is normal as the DM board is booting up. If the fast blink does not stop, then that means the TV sets microprocessor is running but the DM board failed to boot. if it slows down, that means the TV sets timer function is activated. Follow these directions:
LED Indicator Diagnostics: The “Power ON LED” provides an indication of the sets operation, and the possible cause of a malfunction.1. Initial Control Circuitry Check Immediately after the TV is connected to an AC power source: 2. Error Code Operational Check:Pressing the front panel “INPUT” and “MENU” buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds, activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problemhas occured since the last Initalization.Note: The front panel buttons must used, NOT those on the Remote Control.• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code. The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second. The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code. The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.Example: If the Error Code is “24”, the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash four
times.
Error Code Probable Cause
12 Normal Operation - No Error Detected
21 X-Ray Protect
22 Short Protect
23 Loss of Horizontal Deflection
24 Loss of Vertical Deflection
You will probably need to get a service manual for this TV set if you can use and follow one. If you can and do get the manual, I cannot promise anything, but you can send me a copy and we will see if we can assist you and find out what is bad. If the DM board does not boot up, you will need to have the board replaced or rebuilt. Good Luck.
My ws-55613 welcomed us home by first turning on with no sound - clear picture for about 10 seconds, though. It shut down thereafter, and left us with a black screen and a green blinking light of death! BOOOO! I reset the powerstrip and the light came back....now it won't stop blinking! I think I need those DM module instructions for CAP replacements. Can someone please send me the instructions w/ pics of where the DM is and how to remove it? I'd be so greatful! Mahalo!
Larry... could you please send me the repair guide on the WS-55813. I too am getting the green blinking light and have no idea how to get it working again. [email protected]
I checked all the caps around the PS and I dont see any puffed up. I am getting a 24 error on the blinking light. Also the dm is booting up cause I see it blinking fast for about a min, then the light goes off. I was told that the tv was hit by a power surge if that helps narrow any possibilites down. I have the service manual but really dont understand it. I can send it to you if you can help me out. Let me know what email to send to so we can get this thing going. thanks
Did you not see the post I left for you above? According to Mitsubishi, you have a vertical sweep problem. Yes let me see the manual. maybe I can recommend something. Send it to [email protected]
I want to thank Tapas for sending me the instructions.
I went through them and did exactly as shown and was able to remove the DM from the unit... although my set did not have the Board Slide or the Ground Strap. Other than that, it took me about 30 minutes to remove. All four capacitors were bulged, so that was a good (and bad sign too).
Since I have zero knowledge of soldering, I took the DM and instructions down to my local mom and pop TV repair store (1 block away). He could see the capacitors were bad too (confirmed that for me) and charged me $80 and had it done in 30 minutes. Got home and put it all back together... and presto it works like a charm now. So I got it fixed for $80.00 and saved $1100.00 by not having Mitsubishi come out to try and repair it. Money well spent.
So thank you again to the forum and Tapas for all your help.
Moviecouple, I apologize I was not able to get home soon enough to send you the DM board fix, but I am glad though someone who i had sent it to previously, was kind enough to do so on my behalf. That's great you were able to have the capacitors replaced! This document has saved countless people tons of cash. Although this fix will not help every ones Mitsubishi TV set with a blinking light, it does for about 70% of them. Spread the word of techlore.com to all of your neighbors a friends
On a side note. How do you remove the front plastic screen to clean it? What do you clean it with? Do you recommend leaving it off for a better crisper picture?
Oh, yes. Sorry, I just read the post above and realized I didn't leave email.

I recieved the two STK392-570 IC today. I installed them and adjusted the convergence. Everything is back to normal.
Thank you so much for all the help.
