Well i have to thank all of

Well i have to thank all of you on this forum for all the information shared. At first i was skeptical about everyone mentioning capacitors that were the problem on the model wd-52825 and the wd-62825.But sure enough i tryed it and it works.Thank you all. So heres what i did.At first dont get discouraged with all the screws that have to be removed in order to access the circuit boards. When you reach the circuit boards you are going to replace a total of 12 capacitors that are black and blue in color and are labeled (1000uf 16v).There are four on each board.I used (1000uf 35v) in its place. Now in order for this to all work, you also need to locate the connector marked (FC) which has four wires, two black, one brown and one orange. You need to splice the orange wire and route the wire out towards the back of the tv and install an off/on toggle switch.
When you reassemble the tv, power off the orange wire and then plug in the television and wait about 3-5 minutes and that annoying green light will shutt off.Now you can switch the orange wire to on. Your television should go back to normal. Thanks again to all, you guys saved me alot of money during these tough time...My next television will not be a mitsubishi.

Larry,

Larry,

I got your email, but it looks different than what I am looking at. I guess I should have been a little more specific on my model. I have a WD-62525. Do you have anything specific to this model?

Larry, I too have the dreaded

Larry, I too have the dreaded light problem. I have the wd-62825 and is out of warranty. It is either fix it myself or blow the thing up. The problem started with a blue screen and no picture as if the inputs were not being recognized. I had a tech look at it and he found some bad caps on the power supply. After the repair the set went into the BGLOD. I have removed the chassis and found some bad caps on the DM board. I plan on reworking the power supply, signal, DM, and FMT board. Should I bother with the other two PWBs? If you can send me any documentation regarding this fix I would really appreciate it. [email protected]

Well I took the thing apart

Well I took the thing apart and other than having 4 screws left, I found no buldging caps or anything that looked bad to me. I did just have the thing repaired and caps replaced in Jan '09. Any other advice or input?

Larry it looks like i was

Larry it looks like i was more fortunate than many others with having this unit work as long as it did. I have a wd-52825 trying to get to the dm board but dont know how. I have downloaded the service manual. Do you have any instructions on how to take out the board? if you can send it to my email address as you did before that would be great. Most likely I will have the board repaired or buy a refurbished one. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Seems like the standard

Seems like the standard position for Shitsubishi is to cover the parts you pay labor.

This is a strange request,

This is a strange request, but has anyone taken photo's or documented the actual dis-assembly and or re-assembly of the 62825 when they removed the chassis part that houses the caps? I removed the box that has the caps in it and the instructions look a bit different than the actual unit. I tried to label the wires and connectors the best I could, but the re-assembly is a bit tricky (I must confess I left it apart for a month or so until I could get a better soldering iron. My original one didn't get hot enough to de-solder the caps.) If or when any of you have success or issues, they should be posted so others can learn. Not many people have posted about their success.
Thank you Larry for helping all of us. Your time and efforts are appreciated!

Parts came in yesterday. I

Parts came in yesterday. I will start the repairs tomorrow and hopefully get this thing fixed. I will keep you guys posted. I do have a question, Larry I hope you or someone else can chime in. I suspect I have two surface mount caps that are bad causing my bad DVD picture, but I do not know how to decipher the numbers on the cap. The 'w' has a line over it if that means anything.

Well I am almost ready to

Well I am almost ready to power up my set...except...I have a hanging connector. I thought I had labeled everything but obviously I missed one. It is a 2 wire (green & black) attached to a white connector labeled FD. I cannot locate its mate. Larry do you have any idea where this connector would go? The wires a fairly long and reach to about the middle of the set near the DVI cable.

Replaced bad caps and powered

Replaced bad caps and powered the set up. The BGLOD was still on. I tried resetting and no go. I then added a switch on the FC connector and applied AC to the set. The BGLOD went away but the set did not come on. I checked all the voltages on the power supply and all were there. I thought maybe my lamp was bad since the 4000 hour green lamp was flashing. I figured I could connect video and audio to the set to see if in fact it was a bad lamp. I have no audio and everytime my lamp has gone bad I always had audio. Any suggestions anyone? I am about to give up on this thing. The code that flashes is 34-Lamp abnormality. Would a bad lamp cause both a no picture AND a no audio condition?

Will you please send me

Will you please send me instructions on how to fix the green blinking light of death. Power on-off worked for a little while, but it is now just blinkning without any luck. This is the third bulb for replacement. Thanks.
