Larry,

Larry,

WD-62825 with blinking green light. It lasted 2 yrs, 4 months. If you will be so kind as to forward manual and whatever else you have assembled on this unit, I would greatly appreciate it. Give me the phone number of your favorite pizza place or restaurant and I will thank you properly.

I like the idea of using the Nichicon low impedance caps that Dave suggested above. Maybe I will get 4-5 more years out of this unit.

I did a lot of research

I did a lot of research regarding my WD-62825 and the BGLOD (Blinking Green Light of Death). Take your set apart and remove your boards that have all the caps in question. Just make notes so it will be easier to put back together. Pay close attention and write down as much as you can. K? I identified all the Caps 330uf and larger, wrote the board type and location like C8751, C8752 and so on. Then I went online to mouser and ordered these. http://www.mouser.com/catalog/634/725.pdf . If the old was a 10 volt rating I put in a 16, 16V up to 25V, 25V up to 35V and so on. Do not change the uf rating but do up the voltage rating keeping in mind that the size will most likely increase.  If there is more than one size in millimeters with the same voltage and uf rating, then get the Cap with the largest diameter, if you have the room to do so. The larger the diameter then the longer life the Cap will have.

BTW, I replaced about 40 Caps yesterday in myTV and put it back together and my TV is working great. If any of you guys who are going to repair your TV yourself, I wish you the best of luck. Take your time and you should be OK.

EDIT: offended someone

Hello

Hello
I have the same green blinking light for my WS 52825. Can some one please send me the servicing instructions to [email protected]. Thanks

Also, I have had the TV for 2 1/2 years with very little trouble, I guess I've been lucky until now. I wanted to pass on that I found the original OEM Bulb on Ebay for $99.00 with a one year warranty. That was about nine month ago. Mitsubishi wanted $260 for the same bulb.

emc66 said: Hello Larry, You seem to be the man to talk to regarding the repair procedures for the Mitsubishi TV's. I have a WD-52825 manufactured 11/04. As noted in my previous post,I have the seemingly all too common blinking timer light issue. I first experienced the issue where the picture projects these black or maybe blue rolling horizontal lines. I have seen posts regarding this problem as well and it seems that the two problems are related to the DM board capacitors, although you mentioned other possible issues may exist that cause these problems. Is this correct? As a side note, I also have had issues with connections. When the TV was working, I couldn't hook-up any components to work thru the HDMI port. Blue screen is the only result. I also couldn't use the built-in DVR. I just doesn't work period. Is there firmware updates for these TV's that would fix these problems? In any case, I would highly appreciate if you could e-mail me the manual and repair instructions for this model. My e-mail is [email protected]. Thanks and have a great day!

We have the same tv but we were told you can't use the DVR if you have cable/satellite.

hello, Larry. After a few days of research regarding "shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2 2"(green light of death) on my Mitsubishi ws-55859 i came across this thread with renewed hope after reading how Gary had the identical issue as myself and you were able to send him materials with pictures for the repair, and he was successful.I am looking forward to the challenge myself and if you could assist me in the same fashion I would be grateful and keep everyone updated on the progress. much thanks for your invaluable help. sincerely skillethead email:[email protected]

Hello Larry,

Hello Larry,

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 that started to get random noise across the screen and then the screen went to blue with the noise in the middle of the screen.  Now, the tv powers up, but the lamp LED stays red.  I took the tv apart and found two 3300uf caps on the power supply board, four 1000uf caps on the DM and four 1000uf caps on the FM board bulging.  I am in the process of changing these.  The error code I was able to pull before the lamp wouldn't power on was 21.  I believe this is an x ray protection fault.  Is there anything else in particular I need to check for the error 21 code before I put the tv together?

My email is [email protected]

 Thanks for your input

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

I have  problem with my WS-55511.  It will not power up at all. When I unplug the power and replug it, the green light blinks for a bit then stops.  But, it still will not power up at all.  The reset button has the same effect.  It seems that you are an expert in this area and you have some instructions that can be mailed out.   Could it be the fuses only?

    Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

-David

Anyone,

Anyone,

I also have a mitsubishi WS-55511 that I recently replace the STK chip on. Everything seemed fine when I turned the TV on, but after it went through reset sequence it won't power back on. The green light just stays on for a second or 2 and turns off. I have checked and rechecked the connection on the back of the TV. Before replacing the STK chip, the convergence was off bad enough that it could not be reset by remote. Does anyone have any suggestions, I have spent almost a day reading post and trying everything.

Thanks,

jhruzek

Hi We have a WS 55613 having

Hi We have a WS 55613 having the power off problem. It will work for anywhere from 1-3 hours sometimes less, then shut down video and audio. The menu screens (color adjust, clock, ect.) stay on. We can turn it back on, but I am afraid there may be somekind of air flow prob, or thermostat prob. I also notice that it does take quite a bit before turning on at all. Yes the green light blinks, and when checked it shows a 12 code. We have not yet checked the code when the t.v. shut itself off. We just now connected the cables from the sat, straight to the vcr and then to the t.v by passing the tuner hoping this would help.? From the other threads it looks like a bad DM capacitors, yes? I would appreciate any feedback, service info, advice.
Thanks,
toymonster, Clorado
