Video Playback / Recording Devices

my JVC 3 disk dvd player wont spin any disks. when i load a disk it says reading disk, but nothing happens, i listened to the player, and i can't hear the disk spinning. I am guessing that the disk drive motor is bad. Is it hard to replace, or expensive???

I am trying to use FR (Flexible Recording) Mode to Dub from VHS to DVD.
When I program the FR mode for the requested time; ie: 2:25, the menu provides only two selections; START or CANCEL.
When I select START, the unit immediately starts recording the TV input. When I select CANCEL and initiate the DUB Record function the unit defaults back to the previous record mode.(LP, SP, etc)
The instruction manual states FR Mode can be used for dubbing but does not say how to do it.
Has anyone run into this?

I need to take two seperate video sources (audio input not required) sent over s-video cables and unify them as a single singal displayed image on a standard tv set.

Image stream one comes from a live camcorder.

Image stream two comes from my dvd player.

Let me Explain: I like to make prop replicas and the one I'm currenlty sculpting right now is causing me a great amount of diffuctly in the shape and texture matching department..
