Television and Home Theater

Hi: From cold start my TV works fine for about 30 mins. ,Then menu items appear on screen and red light flashes continuously, remote control will now not work, after a time the picture and sound go. If I switch off the TV manually and leave for about one hour and then restart it will again work fine for 30 mins. The TV is about 4 years old.

 Any ideas much appreciated. Does it look like a major problem?

i have a 56 inch sony t.v. approx 7-8 years old that is not powering up. the timer/standby light remains on. when i press the power button nothing happens. the tv was working fine last night, and just all of a sudden the power will not go on. i have pushed every button on the remote and nothing. the model # on the remote is RM-Y906. i have tried unplugging the tv for  about 20 mins and still no power. please help!!!
