wow very informative , i am not actually going to work on it myself , i have a friend who owns a tv repair shop and agreed to look at it . he stated he does not know much about projection tv's and his usual responce to repairing them is to "replace the board" . it's been a while so i asked him about the progress , he said to me he would have to do ....yes "replace the board ". would be very expensive, to me this is just a cop-out . i would think that there is something less needed , but what do i know i don't repair electronics , my point was to hopefully find someone with a similar problem here that might have an idea of what might be wrong with it . thanks for any comments.
Ok No problem My friend. To replace a board in a Mitsubishi projection TV would be like rplaceing the whole front of a car because a turn signal bulb burnt out. The problems that happens mostly with your model, is bad capacitors in the power supply and the sweep circuit. With a a decent ESR type capacitor meter you can read capacitors in circuit in the matter of minutes and no need to replace a board that will cost $400.00 to $600.00 dollars to replace a complete circuit board. In some cases the regulator IC, a shorted horizontal output transistor, and a shorted convergence IC can cause the set to be in a dead state. Also check around the stand up coils and the transformers for bad solder connection. Good Luck

I have a Mitsubishi #60707 the tv will not come on. Please help me!!!
I have the 73909 if I hit the reset button or unplug and wait till green light goes off (after about a min or so) check the code it's a 12 ( 1 flash pause 2 flash pause)then I go to turn it on it clicks on then clicks rite back off then the code it 22 i guess ( 2 quick flashes then a pause), Larry said it's prob the convergence IC's are bad and it sounds like a short. He was kind enought to tell me where on the site the tech man. and oper. man. was but I don't know what they look like or where they are located in the set.
I read other post where he said other parts may have gone out such as some resistors etc.
I replaced the cap on dm in march and it took care of the flashing green light of death and it's been working great but this just happened last week where it would turn on the green light (click) then turn back off. Can anyone help ?
Thanks Steivn..
