Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,
I was reading your info. How is your radiation treatments going? I hope you are doing OK. I am new to the forum I have a Mitsubishi WD-73733 with the regular issue with blinking lights etc. I have the Service Manual for the set. I have parts of the TV sitting in front of me. The bulb has been replaced. The flow chart that I followed in the manual says the ballast is bad, but having been an aircraft electrician working with flow charts, I found them to be somewhat lacking to say the least and usually ended up troubleshooting in the end. I see having been reading this post that you are emailing info to people. If possible could you send me this info also. My email add is ( [email protected] ).

Thank You!

Not a dead forum, just slow, be patient someone will get back to you.

I did get the info i needed here, and was able to fix my WS65611, turns out the
SMT fuse blew first in a big way, it actually melted the trace off the board.

I ended up replacing it with a mini atc glass fuse 4A 125V fast blow, that along with the bank of caps on the DM power supply board fixed my issue, I am back up and fully running.

Thanks to everyone here that assisted!

Yep, I know about slow. I am putting the tv back together. I found a ballast board, so I will try that. If the charts are wrong, the tv is easy enough to get back apart. I have already checked all the board fuses, they were all OK. I did have a couple of caps that I checked that were acting odd, but I will replace them if the ballast board does not take care of the problem.

Hello - Many of the

Hello - Many of the Mitsubishi manuals are available in other forums online.
I found the Mits Manual for the "WD" DLP series (MODELS: WD-52627 / 52628 / 62627 / 62628 / 62827 / 62927 / 73727 / 73827 / 73927)at http://fileshare.eshop.bg/equipment_mfg/MITSUBISHI_2.html
There is other Mits documentation/service info there that may be helpful to other people.

The disassembly procedure for the WD-73927 to inspect the DM board is somewhat different than what is posted for the other "WS" models listed in this forum.
If you have any of the WD models listed , it is highly worthwhile to review the service manual disassembly instructions before attempting to inspect for any faulty capacitors.

I just wanted to check back

I just wanted to check back in a let everyone know that even though my capacitors looked normal...I used the ones suggested by Larry via his .pdf file and my TV is now working again!

Thanks so much Larry...for taking the time to let everyone know what to do for the deadly blinking light syndrome.

The total cost for me to repair my set was:

Solder removal tool-$10.60 plus tax at Radio Shack

Flux-$5.99 at Radio Shack

Capacitors I bought 14...double what I needed...in case this ever happens again!-$5.46

Shipping for the capacitors -$6.00 (LOL)

I already had a soldering iron

So the total cost was $28.05!!!

I have to stress that you NEED to get the solder removal tool. It took me less than 2 minutes to remove all seven capacitors. In two more minutes the new ones were soldered in!

Thanks again Larry. If you PM me your address I will send you something for making this available to everyone!

To everyone else who has this problem...good luck!

Bruce

Finally got all my parts to

Finally got all my parts to do the CAP swap on the DM power supply board, no go after the swap, the 4A 125V surface mount fuse is blown with a considerable heat trace left behind, also, I am not sure if it was blown before I changed the caps or not.

I am going to try to find a replacement, I may just try a non SMT fast blow glass fuse and see if that pops quickly.

Any Ideas Welcome :)

the caps do have a positive

the caps do have a positive and a negative side on them and they do have to be installed with the proper polarity the fuses will probably look burnt if the caps are installed incorrectly

And like Larry said in his

And like Larry said in his wonderful instruction sheet...The caps polarity is marked. There is a series of minus signs (-) down the negative side...and the positive side has a longer 'lead' on it!

I have WD62525 DLP set. It started blinking a while ago, so I pulled DM board out, found bad caps and replaced them. Still blinking... I've heard that DM boards in DLP sets are more difficult to get them going, compared to WS series.
Anyway could you send me detailed repair info on [email protected]?
Thanks

Larry,

Larry,

I have the dreaded blinking green light on my Mitsubishi ws55511 and had a TV repairman look at it.  He said it needed a new DM Board and will cost about $500-$600 to fix.

Could you help by sending the Service Manual please!

Thank you so much!

Larry,

Larry,

My Mitsubishi WS-65411 projection TV has done the following things:

1) It would not turn off with the remote or on the front panel buttons. After I unplugged it for nine hours and replugged TV seemed to work normally for a couple of days.
2) After a night of TV watching that was normal and turning off the TV at bedtime, the next morning the TV would not turn on by either the remote or the front panel.
3) Tried unplugging and replugging again which did not work. When I replugged the TV the green light on the front would illuminate for a couple of seconds and then the illumination stopped.
4) Punched the A/V reset on the front panel which successfully allowed me to turn the TV on.
5) Now when the TV is playing the TV video will flash intermittently and the volume will change either up or down. Neither the remote nor the front panel volume controls are being used when the volume changes. It will either go all the way to highest volume setting or all the way to the lowest volume setting. It seems to get worse the longer the TV is on.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you have any instructions on repair you may email them to [email protected].

Thanks
