Most of the time, it is mounted on the back of the piece where the two antenna jacks are located. should look like a small metal square or rectangle box.
I replaced the capacitors and sent the FM board in to be rpaired. My 62825 still has the blinking green light. Any further suggestions before I offer it up for spare parts?
Hey Larry. We just got the green blinking light of death! We have the wd-62825 model. Replaced bulb, called Mitsubishi they gave us the name of a service repair place, so decided to look it up on the internet and it looks like a huge problem, not sure what to do. Read a few comments and wondering if anyone has ever fixed it? If you could give us some tips we'd really appreciate it so we can know where to go from here.
I have just gotten the same flashing green light problem on my Mit 62825. I had a bulb fail last week, ordered new one and installed it and now I get a flashing green light and nothing seems to make it stop and get the set to power on. Can you larry please send me the same repair info. I had the DM card replaced and power supply replaced in Nov of 2007 under an extended warranty and am wondering if the problem has hit the DM card or is there a possible problem with the format card? I appreciate any help on this. my email is [email protected]
I am really getting a case about mitsubishi and their dlp's.
It seems I too am having this outrageous problem! My dad actually got the mit. WD-62825 from some guy who was moving. I guess he attempted to turn on his tv and it just died. So he gave it to my dad. Right now the set doesn't even turn on...it just has that same blinking green light that most seem to have...we haven't tried anything yet...wondering if there is any hope?...would you please spare some advise or info about this model? It would be greatly apreciated.

Larry Dillon,
I was wondering if you could send me the same set of repair info that you were kind enough to send to others with this flashing green light problem. I don't pretend to be a repair person but would be nice to at least be able to see what the options are to fixing this problem. I have used Denver Radio before to replace the DM board and the power supply in an extended warranty and will probably call them about the flashing green light to see what they can do. I live in Colorado Springs so it will be costly for them to come for a service but I want to try to repair this before I give up. my email is [email protected]\\Also anyone else with a solution to get beyond the flashing green light please let me know. I have tried to hit reset, power down and even tried to hold the power on button with turning on the power to the tv but still no luck in getting beyond the flashing green light. I don't know if reloading the software update with the SD flash card will do anything but Mitsubishi made me return the flash card to them after i upgraded the software. Anyone out there with any other advice please let me know. thanks a lot.

Larry,
I sent you a request to send me the material on fixing the flashing green light for my Mitsubishi 62825 dlp which has started doing the constant flashing green with no stop. I sent you the wrong email. please forward anything you have that can help me to [email protected]
Hey everyone...
After a VERY long and drawn out process, I thought I would update you with where I ended up...
As you may recall, I took everything apart and replaced the 1,000 uf caps. Didn't work. Tried removing the two wired plug (forget which designation) while powered up. Didn't work. Sent all of my boards to PTSCorp. They "normally" work with businesses who have accounts so my boards sat there for a couple months before I called them to find out the status. They did some work on the FMT and Power boards (signal board was OK) and they couldn't get the parts to fix the DM board. So approx. $350 later, I still had a boat anchor.
I called up my local dealer that I bought the TV from and they asked me to bring all the boards down to their shop. They put them on the bench right in front of me and explained that even though some of the caps have been replaced, when my local dealer rebuilds them they replace EVERY SINGLE CAP, OF EVERY SINGLE SIZE, ON EVERY SINGLE BOARD (including all the little tiny ones) with new ones. To date they "claim" they haven't had a rebuild ever come back for failure. They also showed me that some of the caps that weren't replaced were "within spec" for functioning but my screen would probably start flickering or other problems would show up in the near future, hence why they change them all. In addition my local dealer rebuild the TV by adding additional foam and seals up holes so that the only air into the TV is all TRULY filtered so that a bunch of dust doesn't build up inside my TV and destroy the boards with all the heat.
Back when all this started, I called Mitsu and they more or less told me too bad, they aren't covering it. My dealer called them and got them to pay for $300 toward a new chassis (exchanged through Mitsu and all caps replaced by local dealer because DM board was "unrepairable") and I was charged another $300 for the chassis and $65 for fixing the TV's airflow and filtering problems...
So all in all (if you don't count the money and time I wasted with PTSCorp and trying to fix it myself), Mitsu paid $300 and I paid $365 and I got my wonderful TV back in better condition than it was when new (because it has better caps now)...
I wish I would have taken it to them in the first place...

Hey Dis-A-Pointed where are you located ? Im in Chicagoland and like to find a reputable repair center that would do the same repair on mine. Any suggestions anyone?
I see these threads are all quite old so I'm hoping that this gets answered. I've got the same issue with my WD-62825. Last night someone took out a power station and we lost a whole grid. We happened to be watching TV when it happened. Power back on this morning. I'm running my power through a gigantic Monster power center to level the AC input and clear spikes, etc., so no lurch through that.
Have tried all suggestions here short of a repair at board level. I'd really appreciate a copy of the manual that you've spoken of indicating what needs to be replaced. Would most definitely appreciate that! robin @ hugginsnet.com (of course, remove the spaces...).
Oh, also was considering bringing in the compressor and blowing out all the dust. Is this s good idea or too much??

I posted three or four posts back. I have the same problem and am very interested in getting the diagrams so I can fix the darned thing. Need to know what board and what caps and I can take it from there.... I think... last two words being critical...lol
Hi Larry,
I am the latest victim of the blinking green waist of time. I am a hard core diy guy. I have spent hours researching this already and it seems you have helped so many with this problem. I think you should be nominated for the extreme home makeover show or something like that for all your good deeds.:-)Please send over the info for my broken WD-62825 to [email protected] Thanks brother I'll
Hi Larry,
I have replaced all the caps, but now instead of blinking green light, I am getting blinking orange light. Any help is appreciated. BTW, if you don't mind, please send the info for my broken WD62825 to [email protected]. I joined the forum a year ago when you were not feeling well. I am glad that you are back coz you are a saint!!!
If the orange light is blinking the lamp door is not closed and latched properly or the lamp is not seated right, 99.9 % of the time it is the lamp cover/door not latched/closed right check it out!!!! GOOD LUCK
Hello, I am having the same issue with my big screen. The flashing green light. The HOme Electronics repair service man told me it would cost $600.00 to replace the chasey for a part. I am divcorced single mom and have no way of replacing the part or television. So it sits in my living room with a beautiful entertainment center I purchased after the divorce. The repair man told me about a class action lawsuit? Please advise. Thank you.

Need to know what caps need replacing on which boards. Have already disassembled and see many that are swollen on two of the three boards, the power board, DM and FMT. See photos. These may help others who are looking for the problem, the bad caps are blatantly obvious. Anyone else want a series of photos, I took like 70 or so throughout the disassembly, documenting every cable connection. Will post a link to it when I get it done...
Just an example of what I found on the PWB, will post others later...
Anyone have a good source online? RadioScrap doesn't carry anything near these, except 1000uf at 35V. Not sure if it's save to go more than double the power rating. Appreciate any help you can give me!!!
I ordered 12 caps (1000uF 35V High Temp Radial Capacitor) cheap from Parts Express, part # 020-1750 For my wd62825. I am going to try to give as much info about my process for others in need. I was not sure how many total to order. Which caps should be replaced? Larry?

Seems logical - I'll take a closer look at the signal board where I believe those 2 jacks are located. Thank you, again.
