fishboy2e said: OK, I have a bit of a different problem. My WD-52525 turns on with a Blue Screen and a whitish area across the whole screen. It does not recognize any connections from my Blue-Ray, HD-DVR Cable box, or any other connections. From what I have read on other forums, it seems to be BAD capacitors and was told that I need to get an estimate to repair the chasis, then contact Mitsubishi to see if they will cover any of the costs since this is a known issue. Any suggestions?
What more do you need? Get a repair estimate (as you said), contact Mitsubishi to see what they'll cover (as you said). What other kind of suggestions you looking for? You have your solution at hand. Make the call. Only other thing is that you need your original purchase receipt to send to Mits.
What has the outcome from others been when this fix has been completed? Do the TV's last for years more, do they break down again after this fix? I just want to make sure I am spending my money where I should and not have the TV break down again.
Will you please send a copy of the service manual for the wd-52525 to email address [email protected]. I seem to have the BGLOD and would like to replace the CAPS.
Hi, I have a WD-52525 and am having problems with it. First, the lamp light warning kept coming up and finally the tv would not turn on. I unplugged it and about a month later for the heck of it, turned it back on and it worked for a couple months. Then the tv started not to turn on again and the lamp light would blink orange or red, can't remember. So I replaced the lamp and fired it back up and it had a really messed up picture, but it did turn on. I turned it off to adjust it and then the same origional problem was occuring. The tv will act like it is starting up and then after about 15-20 secs, it shuts off. Any clue as to what the problem is and/or how I can fix it?

My set will power up but I just get a flashing green light, nothing else. I repalced the two 3300uf caps on the PSU board, and the 8 caps on the FMT and DM boards. Still nothing. Any other thoughts? my email is scothern99 at sbcglobal.net
My e-mail is [email protected]
I would appriciate any help to get mine to power up and work. It starts to turn on and then ater about 15-20 secs, it shuts down.
I've got a WD-52525 with the blinking light problem and I can see that some of the capacitors are bulged. Can you send the information I need to do this repair to [email protected]?
I also have a Mits WD-52725 with the flashing timer light. Any help with this would be great. Is it a common problem having the caps go bad? Once fixed will it last 6mons or more. Don't want to invest to much time any money if its going to happen every few months.
Thanks in addvanced.

I have just about given up. I'm not getting any help from Mitsu seeing as hwo I have no receipt as I got this TV for free. I have repalced the caps on teh FMT/DM and Power board but all I get is nothing. No lights or anything.
Check the input video diodes. You will find them on the FMT board upper left hand corner. D8F00 PART # 264P828010-diode-DAN202U/MA142W
D8FO1 " " " " "same part number C8F26 " 141P148000 CER (B25K-1M-K) C8F29 " " " ""same part number Formatter board #930B924001, on that board there are 5 caps 1000 ufd 35v that commonly go bad.
Replace all caps that are swollen,
Resolve your checker pattern problem:
1. Tile or block pattern replace D8F00 and D8F01 part # 264P828010, also replace C8F26 and C8F29 part # 141P148000 (1 uFD, 25 V) on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002).
The diodes have a stripe (line) that is the cathode, at one end of the device, the board will reflect that line. De solder as best as you can, glue is under part, heat one end, while prying up, heat other end. It will come off with moderate to mid high he I hope this helps I assume that when you turn on the TV the screen lights up with some pattern. If not then you need to re look at the supply board and the DM board. I would recommend that you replace all the caps that are called for in the repair information Even if the caps look good they may still be week from the heat drying the electrolyte up. Replace them all with new ones they're cheap. This covers any that don't show signs of bulging. You should have a blink light when you first plug in the set wait for 3 to 5 min the light should stop blinking. Turn on TV and the light should be solid green. You should have a full screen if it works with picture if hooked up. If not you should see snowy screen.
download the free software so you can open and save
the service manual. If you cannot locate the
capacitors, go to mouser.com, the link is at the
bottom of the page. They will have what you need. DO
NOT USE RADIO SHACK CAPACITORS!! They are not the high
temp. types and will blow up your TV set in a matter
of months. Be sure to check all of the pictures and
all of the caps before ordering, as you might be
ordering several, as I have replaced as many as 15 in
one DLP TV set before she worked. http://www.mouser.com/search/refine.aspx?Ntt=140-HTRL16V1000-RC%09
And Try disconnecting the FC connector to the FMT board and power up. If the blinking stops after 70 secs, then suspect the FMT card. or the caps on this board.
Also I heard this works good also: I have not tested the following procedure! But give it a try
Locate the DM board and remove the connector labeled "FC". Plug in your TV and wait for the hard drive fan to turn on, then off a few times and the LED will finally go out. Now, plug the "FC" connector back in, and go watch TV! The only gotcha is that if you remove the power from the wall, you have to repeat the procedure. You can put a toggle switch between the orange wire that goes into the "FC" connector. This way, you can remotely do the reset. The DM is still broken, but this bypasses whatever check is done
PS, you can also contact me directly here if you need
any assistanceIf you replace all of the capacitors and the set still
doe not work Suspect the DM PCB part # 934C116002
Try removing the USB connector on the chassis and power up. If the blinking stops after 70 secs, then the reader is bad.

Well there is so many posts, I cant keep it straight.
I have a WD-52525. This model does nto have the HDD. The set was given to me so I thought I would try to fix it. It started with jsut a blinking light. So I removed the FMT and DM boards and repalced 4 swelled caps on each. Then for good measure, I relaced the two caps on the power board as well. Now when I plug the set in it does nothing.
Before I had a flashign green light. Now it powers on, the fan spins then stops and spins and stops. I get no lights at all, and I can ehar a faint noise like a pop but real low come from the speakers.
I did notice that the power board has a differnet model number on it, but appears to be the same part numebr per your service docs located on Techlores homepage. So, Im not sure what to try next. I'm unemployed and trying to get the set fixed myself. I'm not affraid of electronics so testing and soldering arent an issue. What is the next step short of paying PTSCorp $330 to rebuild my chasis?
Is there a document that will show me or tell me how to get to the power supply? It was recommended to me to pull the power supply out and test the capacitors with a volt-meter.

Since my fix, I have had two home power glitches (thanks to the SoCal Edison Power Comapny) that brought back my blinking green light. Both times I have been able to reset my TV using the toggle switch to reset the blinking green light by
- Turning AC off
- Set toggle swith to off
- Turn AC on and wait 1 minute for green blinking light to stop
- Set toggle switch to on
- Turn on TV with remote or from front panel
The picture quality is still great and all is well in my small world.
