Marcus here - I have the same green blinking light no picture on a wd52525.
It soundss like replacing a Lamp may not fix it and the bulb is $229 from Mit. Time to get a new TX it looks like unless someone post another fix.
dadc said: Hi, The Mits number is 1-800-656-3005. The Tech from the TV service co. here in Denver, CO. told me that Mits. was in a 48 State Law Suit over this issue. Unfortnatelly, they knew about this problem and that the components and DM boards were not capable of handling the amount of heat these rear projection Sets produce.
That's great Info, although mine is already apart and I have already replaced some caps and am waiting for more to arrive. If my repair doesn't work, do you think they will still do the replacement, now that I've mucked around in there?
I already replaced the caps on my dead tv (WD 52725) but I will call them anyway. The new caps that I installed donÂ’t do any good. I'm out of luck. I'm sure there's something else that's wrong other than the caps.

What did you get after replacing the caps? Did you get the Blinking light again? Have/are you going to call the 800 number?
Can someone please send me the instructions on this as well? I just started getting the blinky light thing...2 days after the picture started flashing a little. I change caps all the time on Computer mobos.. Thanks! [email protected]
hello larry, thanks for sending the infor.on my wd52525.It has been a while but I have it apart but can't get the board out to put the caps in??Please help one last time my wife said fix it or toss it.I have the back open but don't know how to get the dm board out.Or where it is.
I fixed my Mitsubishi 52525 Green Blinking problem. When all fuses and caps checked out ok and still had the problem. The orange Brown and two Black connector wire that feeds into the Dm Board. From the back of the chasis you have two. One on the left and one on the right when facing the back of the TV. Simply remove the (RIGHT) connector, Power up and wait for it to stop Blinking, and then once it stops, simply plug back in,...And Presto..My Tv works again. So I simply cut in a switch like recent post suggested and it works. This site is awesome, Thanks guys. This is the third time I had to repair my own tv and I did it all with the help of this site. And Im a Licensed plumbing contractor with 0 electronic skillz. will be glad to help anyone email me at [email protected]
My dw52525 is doing the same thing. This tv has been in the repair shop 3 times since i baught it. now its the blinking green light. My repair shop saye he is supposed so tend the chasis back to the factory for this repair. A cost of about $600. I could use the repair manual myself if you dont mind. Thanks [email protected].
PS Why cant I watch movie trailers through my HDMI cable from Directv any more on this tv?
Did anyone ever figure out how leaving one of the board unpowered until the green light stops flash then plugging it back in fixes the problem. My tv has been in the basement for about two months. I have it plugged into a power switch which is turned on/off be a remote. And to this day I have not had todo anything to turn on the tv. When we want to use the tv,dvd, game system, and pinball machine we just hit the remote. Im a tight ass who doesnt want to pay Com Ed anymore than I have to. But When I first repaired my tv I had to unplug(or in my case I added the switch to the orange wire for the FMT board) to get the blinking light to stop flashing. Then It just stopped So I added the remote for the main plug to save power. Just wanted to know. Its been a few months and the tv works and looks great.
I do remember that any four wire power that suppied the 12 volts that was unplugged made the light stop flashing. Just dont know why
Tony
Hey Tony,
So you sometimes don't have to flip the orange wire switch? That's cool. Still yet have had the time to rip apart to get to that darn wire to add a switch.
I also have the blinking light issue w/ the WD-52525 model. Could you please email me the repair instructions. I would really appreciate the info. Thanks
Tony, as for the delay.. I'm sure something can be built up to delay power up. relay switch or a SCR with a timer when it sees power.. Have to think about this a bit.
OK, so I've replaced the caps and checked the fuses - so far so good. I'm in the process of putting everyhing back together. My question to everyone is I have an empty connector socket on the DM board - on the vertical edge toward the screen - it's a small one labeled PA. I cant find any connector to go there. Any ideas? I have a WD-52825.
Also, any recommendations for the first power up process after the repair? Anything special to know?

I seem to recall that nothing connects there. I recall spending a lot of time reviewing various connections because I encountered the same question myself.
Make sure that your connections are all secure and that you have placed the shielding back and routed the wire bundles exactly as they were.
I added the switch when I took it apart in Nov. Used it only when I first replaced the caps. Every since then the switch has been unused. I added a remote control power strip to the main plug to save electricity. I have a few componants plugged into the remote power strip like a dvd player, game system, and so on. This way I dont have to hit the power switch(on the power strip) or unplug the power strip.
The only question I had was why when you first power on the set to you need the have one of the boards disconnected? After that bootup the tv has been fine. And it is completely unplugged for days.
The tv is only used once in awhile. I am tring to hook up a computer to it so I can stream music and video but the picture is bouncey and hard to read. Its plugged into the vga pc hookup. Im still woring on that. That is a TV problem because the on screen display looks just as bad.
Last has anyone had any luck with the 800 number. I have two complete chassis and would like to send one in. The problem I have was that I got a little upset with them last time I called for an update. They were not very nice and because I fixed the set they treaded me like sh-t. Anyway just wanted to know.
To all.. I fix cars for a living. I had a problem with a Mitsubishi sports car computer...Bad caps... You got to love it $1500 shipped from Japan plus labor
I have the blinking green light at the where it says timer. The television won't turn on. This is a popular problem. Please send me the instruction for fixing this. [email protected] Thank you.
I finally received resolution on my WD-62525 problem. My TV started the flashing green light of death. After reading this forum I was reluctant to try the repair myself. After talking to two different repair places it was looking like $1000 to get it fix. Both places knew right away what was wrong with it and diagnosed it over the phone. One repairman cautioned just trying to repair individual components on the boards because he said that as soon as you fix one, another will fail soon after. He recommended a full chassis rebuild from the factory.
I happened to run into a regional Mitsubishi Rep at a local retail store and visited for about an hour. I was encouraged by the rep to call the customer service number listed in the instruction manual. I called and was issued a claim number and via email supplied detailed information about the problem. I was required to get a written diagnosis and estimate for repair. I paid $135.00 service call charge for the tech to come to the house and write the estimate. The estimate was $295 plus tax for labor and $500 for a chassis rebuild. I emailed the repair estimate and a copy of my purchase receipt to Mitsubishi. Keep in mind that I purchased the TV back Aug 2004. After about a week, I was called by a Mitsubishi rep and told that Mitsubishi would cover the cost of the chassis rebuild. With tax I will be out another $318 or so for the repair labor. Although I am not happy that Mitsubishi put out TVÂ’s that were doomed to fail (especially for what they cost back then), I will be out a total of $453 out of pocket. Back in 2004 I was quoted over $500 for the extended warrantee if I would have purchased one. All in all, $453 is less than what I would have paid for the extended warrantee and I expect to have the TV working after this fix. The service tech that came to the house is very familiar with this issue and said that if the TV fails soon after the rebuilt chassis is installed that Mitsubishi will most likely replace the TV. I will be without the TV for another four to six weeks, but I guess all in all I can live with the outcome.
Chris:
So if you didn't have a tech come out to your house, your cost for repair would have been $318? (Of course I'm assuming this doesn't include the cost of shipping).
I guess that would be correct on the $318. I would have saved the $135 if I would have taken the TV into the shop and not had to pay for the service call. Our TV is on the second floor and and it was worth the money not to move it.
To simplify my explanation the break down was as follows:
Service call $135
Labor for repair $295
Rebuild Fee from Mitsubishi (I guess it includes shipping) $500
Mitsubishi is only covering the rebuild fee ($500). I donÂ’t think I would have gotten anywhere with them had I been trying to do the repair myself. They required the authorized repair service to come out and evaluate the TV before they would go any further.

I would try to utilize the DVI if your doing video and music. One of my TV's I use the HDMI output and it looks awesome with HD signal recordings.
