Have had my WD-52525 for 3 years, the other day I turned on the tv and the power light turned green as normal, but the screen appeared scrambled. Turned off the tv, then turned it back on. This time power light turned green, then after a minute (with no light or sound from the tv during this time) everyhting seemed to shut off and the lamp light on the front console turned a solid red.
according to the manual this meant the lamp was out, so i ordered a new lamp (even though current lamp is approx 12 months old). changed the lamp but no luck - still with power light green followed a minute later by power going off and lamp light turning red.
i have read on these posts about "resetting" the tv, but am not quite sure how to do that or if that would do any good. If you have instructions on this i'd appreciate it.
otherwise, it sounds as if i'm headed to call a repairman since i am not adept at electronic repair. any ideas as to the underlying cause and a reasonable cost for repair, so i know if the repair service is knowledgable and not ripping me off?
This sounds like the typical power supply and FMT board repair. I will send you the directions and picture so you can see if you think you can do this yourself or have a friend do the work for you. Good Luck

I would love the set but Michigan is way to far to travel to the sunny state of California. :>(
Well, if nobody comes forward around here, I would be willing to sell what is probably a working DM board or other boards for any reasonable offer. Would sell the bulb but not easy to ship it. I've put it up on craigslist sfbay for now.
First off, we are NOT suppose to sell, or advertise anything for sell here on techlore with out the permission of the editors or administrators here at techlore. If I were you, I would write a very nice letter to the editor as well as to the administrators of this wonderful web site and ask them for permission to sell or to piece out your TV set. Also mention that it would really be a great addition to have a traders thread on this great site. I would be very careful in selling the "working DM board" if I was you. You do not really know this for sure do you? As this is a big falure in this TV set. I would say of course, everything seemed to be working at the time of the falure of the TV set, but there is no warranty at all on any board or item sold from this TV set, and of course is AS IS!. I watch a lot of peoples court! LOL
I have the same problem with the TV turning on with scrambled black lines, kinda like digital white noise, so bought new bulb and changed, now TV won't power on at all, took back off TV but could not get to boards, could I please have instructions on how to get to board, have caps ready to get to work but cannot get to board, so glad I found you guys and this site, first time I really feel like I have found solution to my problem!!! I thank you in advance!
Hate to jump on the band wagon, but I have a 62525 with the continuous fast blinking green status light. It just started yesterday, up until then it has only gotten the bulb warnings. I've tried reseting a bunch of times and left unplugged over night, but it comes right back.
Could I ask a huge favor in requesting any related documents/service manuals to help fix this guy up? Thanks alot for the help, It's really appreciated, my kids are going to beat me up soon :)
Larry - One more TV addict that has the green flashing monster on a WD52525. Please send a copy of the necessary repair docs. You've a great forum and a Million Thanks!! Liam
I will resend it then, if you do not get it, double check your junk mail or the bulk mailbox then. If this is a work e-mail account, that is why you never received it then,. Most work firewalls will not let you receieve larger files with attachments.
It's a personal MSN account? I am not sure about the size that it will let you attach to it, but it's not in bulk or junk, and it shows no attachment to either this one or the one you have sent before. I have a yahoo one also same name Wadey12@yahoo. Thanks!
I sure do, I know there are endings of net or org or edu, but figured that you knew that there is not other ending other than .com for those 2 address, I apoligize for that just a habbit, will make sure to be more exact in the future!
Just that I answer at least a hundred or more, if not more a week and do not need to guess and play games as I take this very serious. I enjoy helping. It is always not an easy task trying to figure out the codes most try to put on the e-mails so the spam bots do not get them. It is like they are a top secret order or something. Have they ever heard of spam mail or bulk mail settings? I have both and simply delete these so I do not worry about it. Never had a really serious problem.
Larry, you are an electronics saint! I've read most of this board ... its nice to know there are helpful people out there. I'm having a similar problem with my WD-52525 (blinking light and what not). Could you please send me the repair info. Thanks in advance. [email protected]
Larry Dillon said: Liam, how am I to send you anything without an e-mail address? I am good but certainly no mind reader and my magic lamp is in the shop today. LOL
I am soooo smart, aren't I. Probably, one of the reasons why I have a blinking green light :) My email address is [email protected]. My apologies, but thanks again!
Not a problem. I get that all the time. folks find out they may be able to repair their TV sets and they get so excited, they forget. It will go out shortly. Good luck!
Larry, I'm having a similar problem with my WD-52525 (blinking light and what not). I took it in to an authorized Mitsubishi repair shop and was told a bunch of bad capacitors in the power supply and the format board needing to be replaced and gave me an estimate of $ 700.00 dollars. I said no thanks and had them return it. I have some component level experience and thought I have nothing to lose. I removed the power supply and noticed that 4 caps had been replaced. I should have powered it up when I received it, but I didn't and now I have it all apart. My question is what about the format board and where is it located? Any repair info would be greatly appreciated. My email is [email protected] Thank you......
