Larry,Thanks for the paperwork, even with that its been a search finding the right board and how to get it out, but I'm there.  Four caps look bad.  I only see one fuse on this board where the power cord plugs into it.  Are there more fuse's elsewhere that I should check before reassembly?

Thanks,Scott

Check the capacitors I

Check the capacitors I suggested and have highlighted on the different boards. I automatically replace them all when i get a set like this. I do not fiddle around and check them to see if they are bad,. They have been bad in the past, so i simply replace them. ptscorp.com will rebuild your chassis for about 300 bucks or so. Go to the web page and get their toll free number and call them.

Sounds like I am having a similar problem.  My set is 38 months old.  My WD 52525 has a flashing green timer light.  If I reset the tv, it will work again.  The screen freezes after 10-45 minutes and will not accept any input.  I have to unplug the set to start the process over.  Do you have any suggestions?  I just replaced the bulb this week.  If it is the same repair problem as previous posters, could you send the repair info to;  [email protected]

Thanks

Success is Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Success is Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found 5 bad capacitors  on two different boards.  Removed and replaced them all.  Total cost $14.09.  Put it all back together, saying man I hope this works.  Hooked it up tonight and it came on as bright and as normal as new.   Keep at it guys.  The ability to disasemble and reasemble is  the biggest hurdle if your not familiar with this kinda of work.  But be patient, it can be done.

Thanks for the info Larry, its good to have guys like you out there for the help the rest of us need.  I will be contacting you later.

I have a WD-52525 that was working fine with exception of the indicator light has been flashing yellow indicating the bulb has surpassed the 4000 hour span. I turned the tv on the other day and the picture was "weak" a caption at the bottom stated that the RBGHD cable may not be connected correctly, which is not the case. With no cables connected the screen picture is the same, very faded looking and flickering. Seems obvious that something other than the bulb has/is failing/failed. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I did change the bulb, when I turn the TV on the green light flashed for approx. 1 minute. When it stopped I turned on the tv, the yellow light started flashing, after a minute or so, it turned red and I could hear the fan noise change. I turned the tv on again and again the picture was weak and flickering the same as the old bulb.

I didn't mean to give the impression the flickering is due to the bulb, it's more of a jittery faded picture.

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

I too have a WD-52525 with a continuously blinking green timer LED blinking.  I have replaced the lamp about 6 months ago.  I tried switching back to the old one (I replaced it before it failed).  It did not make a difference.  The TV has over the last few months occationally did the blinking LED thing, but it could be cleared up by power cycling or resetting.  This no longer works.

From the message thread I am interested in checking/replacing the DM capacitors.  Can you send me the service manual and instructions for replacing the caps.  I am especially interested in how to get at the boards.  I took the back panel off and I see the boards in a metal enclosure.  Not sure how to crack into it.

One other question, should the fan on the back panel run when the TV is off?  Mine is not, but I am not sure if it is supposed to.

Thanks for your help.

George
