I'm an Avionics engineer by trade, and dabble in TV's.  I've been buying loads of non-working customer returns and repairing them.  I just sell them to friends and family and occasionally on ebay.  I have about 30 tv's in my garage right now.

Not to get off topic, but do you have any idea where i can get a color wheel for a HP md5820n?  HP only sells the entire light engine for 1400.  Crazy

Find out who makes the HP

Find out who makes the HP light engine. probably Samsung or perhaps Toshiba? It might say something on the light engine, or from a model or part number on the light engine. There are only a few manufacturers of light engines and display panels.

I am having the same problem
I am having the same problem with my WD-52525, it comes on for 30 seconds and shut off with a red lamp light. I was getting Error code 34 (Lamp abnormality). I ordered a new lamp from mits and the TV turns on with sound but no picture and turns off after 30 seconds. I am still getting the same Error code 34. I swaped back and forth about 4 times to the old lamp and it still comes on with a picture for 30 seconds. I returned the new lamp and mits said its not defective.  Do you have a service manual for this model and could you email it to me?  [email protected]
thanks.

I have the option of getting

I have the option of getting a WD-62525 for free.  It sounds like it has the same problem everyone here is talking about.  The person who has it says "The problem symptom is that the TV turns on and about 1 minute later the lamp indicator illuminates."

It looks like lots of people have had a lot of trouble with this, and I don't really see anyone talking about successfully resolving the issue.

My question is: Is this tv worth my time and trouble, even for free?

There are many caps that go bad in this set. The 34 code is a bad lamp or bad lamp circuit. i have sent out the service documents to all who has left a good e-mail address.

Larry,

Larry,

We also have the WD-62525 projection tv.  The tv was working fine (we replaced the lamp a month ago for the second time in 3 years) and the status light started blinking red after the screen went black...we still have sound.  We did the reset button to power off the tv, but the timer light continuously blinked green and the tv did not power off.  We finally unplugged the tv.  After the lamp cooled we plugged in the tv, powered her on, got a picture, but only for a short time.  The screen again went black and the status light was blinking red...still have sound.  We reset again to no avail and finally unplugged the tv.  I feel that it is the lamp fan malfunctioning, but do not have a service manual...could you please send me a copy?  Also, what do you think is the issue?  Will I be able to order parts for the tv?  If I can where from?  who from?  Any help would be appreciated.

My email addy for the service manual:  [email protected]

Thanks alot for your help.

Larry Dillon said: Thats an indication of a DM board problem.  There may be four capacitors inside the DM board assembly that need replacement.  If you can solder and follow directions, I have a DM board fix for this TV set with pictures as well..  Just request the directions and leave an e-mail address, and I will send these directions to you.  If you are not handy and are not mehcanicly inclinded, do not attempt the repair yourself.  A repair person will most likely charge you 700 to 1000 bucks for a repair such as this.  Good Luck

Larry, Hope you can help me too. I have the same problem with my WD-62825, also the fan keeps running. I had a tech open it up and look at it and told me my four caps (on my power supply, if iI remember correctly) are bad and my DM board needs to be replaced. I'm some-what a DIYer, if you have any info for me on my set I would appriciate it very much! my e-mail [email protected], thanks in advance.

Hello everyone.  I came

Hello everyone.  I came across this forum and decided I need some help, this looked like a great place to ask.

I have a Mitsu WS-55615 that has a problem.  Regular playback is great, no problems there, but when I press the Device button, on either the remote or on the front panel, the video becomes very choppy for about 30-45 seconds, then the set powers off with the flashing green light.  I checked the diag lights and it returned a 1-2 (no error).  Undecided

Any leads on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sounds like a problem on the

Sounds like a problem on the DM3 board. These boards according to Mitsubishi are not field serviceable and there not even any service information on these boards. They want you to replace it. They will cost about 7oo to 800 bucks. You could also sent the chassis to ptscorp.com and they will overhaul the chassis for a lot less. Go to the website, get the 800 number and call them and ask. Good Luck

Larry Dillon said: Your welcome Joe.  yes change the capacitors, or if they are not swollen, have them checked as they could still be bad.

I have a WD-62525 and replaced lamp a couple times and still get lamp light. Removed cover from back of TV and I can see the lamp light for a few seconds and then it turns back off. Testing with volt meter shows power to bulb droping off. Voltage also seems low as buld is marked at a 110 volts and on my $8.00 volt meter it seems to be in the 50v or less range. Could really use service manual if you might beable to send me one. Thanks-Joe

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

I have the WD-62525 and my red lamp light just went on.  I replaced the lamp twice and I'm still having the same problem (no picture or sound, it just goes right back to the red light).  I don't know the service code as of yet (I'm not home), but is there anyway you can send me the service manual to [email protected]

Larry Dillon
Nic, I will send out the DLP

Nic, I will send out the DLP repair documents including the factory service manual. Your problem could possibly a capacitor or two in the main power supply or perhaps the ballast circuit. Good Luck.

my my mits ws55311 doesn't have a DM board, has does the 22 blinking light of death. How should I trouble shoot this one? I have gotten hold of a service manual but it's not looking too clear to me, can any one help get me started in the right direction? There are no service techs for at least a 4 hour drive. I am willing to try step by step anything anyone has to offer. Thank you!
