mits, your problem is not the DM repair. It sounds more like the power supply, or perhaps in the ballast circuit.

Larry - My WD-62725 went on

Larry - My WD-62725 went on hte fritz the other day.  It started witht he picture being bad and then went to a blue screen.  I could not get any input from the cable box or my DVD player.  I tried reset, but when it restarted it would not turn on.  I got the little red light of death (lamp replacement).  I checked the code and it says #34.   From what I have read here it sounds like the caps might need to be replaced.  Is that correct?  I replaced the lamp 5 months ago and it looks good.

Could you please send the service manual to [email protected]

 Thanks

Doug

Doug, it does not sound like

Doug, it does not sound like the typical DM cap replacement proble. Your problem sounds more like the power supply, lamp ballast circuit,  or the lamp is bad. I will however forward you a copy of the service manaul. Good Luck

Larry,

Larry,

I have a WD-62825. Just two hours ago I replaced the lamp after 2 years, 9 months of good service. After sliding the lamp cover home, I saw the yellow Lamp light extinguish, and the Timer light begin a fast blink w/o interruption. Reset, un-plug, swear, and pray; nothing seems to work. Does this sound like the DM capacitor fix might work? If so, could you please forward the necessary info to my email at [email protected]. I am most appreciative.

penny1983 said: I had the same exact problem with my WD-62525 that George S did- complete loss of picture with the red blinking light in the 3-1 pattern. After reading several of the responses, I was able to 'reset' the tv. That was about a week ago. Now, every day or so, the Timer light starts blinking (green)after shutting the picture off, and it is a continous blink, and after a minute or so the tv shuts off. When I power it back on, there is a message asking whether or not the lamp has been replaced. Now, that message has been occuring for 6 months or more, at what appeared to be random times. So, from what I gather, it may be a bad board. Or, could it be an overheating issue of some sort? The bulb was replaced on this TV about 8 months ago, and ever since the bulb was replaced, there have been 'spots' in the picture- most noticeable in the white areas. I think the spots are bigger (and there are more of them) now then when the bulb was first replaced. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the powering off issue, or is completely unrelated. Any advice would be appreciated. (My husband is really upset that we spent $4000 on this set 4 years ago, spent $200 on a lamp within the last year, and the potential that the DM board is bad  (meaning lots of repair $$$)is a real good possibilty per the responses to the original question.)

Larry- this was what I had posted originally. Thanks.

Hello Everyone-

Hello Everyone-

First .. Larry Dillon, you sound like a pretty busy guy just keeping up with all of this.  Thanks in advance for any help you could provide.

Here's my problem:  I've got a 3-4 year old Mitsu WD-62525, which has been great for our family.  A few weeks ago, th lamp light glowed yellow, and the picture seemed slightly darker, so I figured it was getting time to replace the bulb.  A few days later, solid red light, and no picture or sound.  I ordered a replacement bulb, installed it, and nothing changed - still solid Red.

After using the method to extract the Service Code, I'm getting a 3-4 (Lamp Abnormality).  Being the curious guy I am, I left both the front panel and the lamp harness cover off, and put a screwdriver into the slot (normally plugged by the harness cover) so that I could look right into the Bulb/fan as it turns on to see any signs of life.  Rigging it this way is similar to rigging the washing machine so you can see it working with the door open.  Anyway, after doing so, I pushed power, saw the fan start to spin and the lamp begin to glow (the lamp light blinks yellow during this process.  The lamp then shuts off, the fan continues to spin for a few moments, then stops - and then I get the solid red light.

Reading through the posts so far - it appears as if this model has a problem with the lamp ballast.  I've already begun to search for this part online in case I need to purchase.  I've also downloaded the service manual.  I'm no TV/Elctrical specialist, but common sense and a willingness to follow directions has allowed me to learn / fix plenty of stuff - so if someone can offer a suggestion as to my problem and the best place to find the part needed (IF needed) - I'm up for trying it.

Thanks everyone

Penny and JMaglovski, It

Penny and JMaglovski, It certainly sounds like you might have a bad ballast circuit board assembly. There could also be an issue that the ballast is not getting the 340 volts from the power supply. That issue could be a bad component in the regulator circuit for the lamp.  I would first check the fuse marked F9O00 in the main power supply. This fuse controls the voltage going to the ballast. A bad light can cause this to blow. Good luck

Excellent .. thats my next

Excellent .. thats my next step.  Thanks!

Now, where to buy fuse F9O00?

Larry Dillon
If it is blown, it is a bad

If it is blown, it is a bad lamp or perhaps the ballast board. Check the fuse for continuity first. Then see what type of fuse it is. It should be marked on the board or on the fuse.

I took the back off of the

I took the back off of the set, and peeked around with a flashlight, but there was no fuse in the immediate area.  The Service Manual isn't too clear on where to find it.  Sorr to ask, but where is the fuse .. how do I get to it?

Larry, I have the service manual, but it doesn't explain the removal of the DM board from the V26++ chassis. If I could get that sucker loose from the cage (on this model it is between the formatter and the signal boards in a cage of some sort) I could R&R the caps. Do you have info on getting the DM out of this chassis?

[email protected] <------ this is a GOOD email addy.

Antag, please answer question

Antag, please answer question? i see you edited your post. Are you a tech as your post originally said you had two of these to repair?

Antag
Larry - As I said in my email

Larry - As I said in my email to you, I am not the guy with two sets.  That was the person who posted before me - 918jason.   Please look at page 6 and you will see it is not me.

I edited my text because I put a ! instead of a @ in my email address.

I have one set, a WD-62725.  You sent me the service manual, I was just wondering if there were other repair docs.  The service manual does not show what to fix on the DM board or anything else.  I am not exactly sure what is wrong with my tv, but the serivce manual did not help pin point the problem.

I am not a service tech.  I do not have 2 tv's that I am working on.  I just want to try and fix my tv.  I miss it.

If you can help me with the repair manuals I would greatly appreciate it.  My email is [email protected]

Thanks
