Receivers and Audio Components

my reciever turns off after like 5-7 seconds.this is a sherwood digilink iii

RV-5030R it is an awesome unit i rescued it from a fire many years ago. up untill now it has been great. i do have a sony kp390t powerd off of it and a video and playstation could this be too much of a load,anyways i unplugged the tv but still has the problem thankz

Help required from you Techno Wizards

Crackling noises through the speakers keep cutting off the sound whilst watching TV. Pressing the mute button twice on the remote returns the sound but only for a few seconds. Grrrr. This problem is intermittent because some days it will be ok for several hours! This has been driving me mad for about 2yrs and my hearing is not getting any better, (I said my hearing is not getting any better), hence the need for this unit to work properly!

WE carefully shipped a Pioneer receiver and it won't turn on now.  ANy suggestions or ideas of what could be checked to determine why or correct the problem?  It was working just fine before shipping.
