Receivers and Audio Components

Ok, here's my setup: Fronts - Def. Tech ProMonitor 1000s, 4 surrounds - Def Tech ProMonitor 60s ProCenter 60 and ProSub 60, Receiver - Pioneer Elite VSX-80-TXV. I recently read an article that indicated I may have had my speaker wired incorrectly to get the best sound ( I had them wired direct from receiver to speakers). The manual and some sites suggested that I should wire the receiver to the sub, sub to the fronts. I did that (with mixed results). So, my question is this, with this current setup, how should I be utilizing the crossovers?

This is a twin cd/twin cassette player.   Initaially, the cd players would turn the disk but not play.  The lights come on, the thing spins, but no sound (CD).  I used the AUX mode with my dvd player for movies and it worked great for awhile.  The other day I put a cd in the dvd player and switched to aux mode and nothing.  I turned up the volume a notch on cd player, it played but very loudly.  when i tried to turn it down, there was nothing...I bought the unit in 2000 and am not one to play alot, but was wondering if it is even worth my time or effort to

I have been looking for one of these remotes for some time it is for my STR-DE805G Receiver.

Does anyone have one, I'll Buy it gladly, or is there a compatable replacement?
