Television and Home Theater

I've inherited a 32' Mitsubishi tube TV when I purchase my new home recently.  The former owner wanted to leave it behind; now I know why!  This thing must weight 150 lbs!  The TV worked great for about a month, terriffic picture and sound, nice features.  Then it became increasingly hard to turn the tv on.  We would hit the power button and sometimes it would pop on 5 minutes later, sometimes longer.  One day we couldn't get it to turn on at all, so I pulled it out and connected the cable directly to the TV, bypassing the cable box.  I also plugged the tv

This Tv was dropped, worked fine before it was dropped. The HV transformer was broken off the circuit board. I repaired the damage?? The set turned on but had a wierd picture. It looks like the degaussing circuit is constantly energized. It's un plugged!! The picture appears somewhat normal except for these chromatic curved lines that radiate from the bottom center in a rainbow effect towards each side. Theses lines are about 3/8 inch wide. I replaced the main board since it was damaged anyway, the power supply and the video chip on the VCR board. Still have the same wierd problem.

I first noticed the problem a month ago when the tv's volume went up by itself and wouldn't respond to anything from the remote for my tv or cable box remote. When I pressed the down volume on the tv control panel, the volume would go right back up. I was able to reset the tv and the problem went away. Then a couple of weeks ago, the picture would start to flash from black screen to picture, with the message "Check connections or power. The connections for RGBHv or yPrPb may be invalid. The flashes happened at random times during the day and sometimes within seconds of eachother.
