I have a TOSHIBA MW20FP1 TV/VCR/DVD combo. Why does my screen get a big black box sometimes? I cannot take it off except by changing channels and then it comes back again. Also how do I get the info screen off?

Answer:
The big black box you're referring to is related to the closed caption features of the TV.
I have an RCA XL100 TV. I'm getting green fringing around bright white areas of picture, and was told that it picture tube is tired. It seems strange becaues if the picture has little white, there is no problem. It otherwise looks good. I don't believe this has to do with convergence.
Adding a JP1 connector to the RCU810 remote is a little bit more complicated that adding one to a remote like the Cinema 7, so I have outlined the steps involved here.
First you have to take the remote apart. Remove the screw in the battery compartment, then pry the two sides apart. Read Tommy Tyler's Instructions if you have difficulty doing this. Personally, I slide an old credit card into the crack at the lower end of one side, and proceed to seperate the two parts.
