Okay, I can't take it any longer. I have to get my new TV. The 27" CRT I have I got right after college, and because it's not "shiny", the rest of my entertainment center hasn't ever really gotten finished either.
It looks like the 2 camps just can't play nice. There had been talks between Blu-Ray advocates Sony & Matsushita and HD-DVD key player Toshiba to end the format war before it started - by introducing one standardized format for the next generation of optical discs.
I've been promising my friend Steven that I would start a gadget/tech blog for a while now, but haven't gotten around to it for various reasons. At this point, I have a backlog of toys to discuss, and I'm going to see how well I can stick to contributing something every few days as I use the products. Unfortunately, to get started I need a bunch of background.
First, a bit about me. I'm an enterprise architecture consultant. I won't bore you with what that means at this point, except to say that I travel quite a bit (4 days a week, more or less full time for the last 8 years) and my daily life is really focused around the technology I carry with me - my laptop(thinkpad for now), mobile phone (today a blackberry 7100t), and when I'm flying or trying to focus, my music (iPod).
The more you work out, the more efficient you become, the less calories you burn. What to do, what to do?
I am a big fan of heart rate monitors. They help keep you honest when you exercise. They can help you make sure that your warmup is really a warmup, and know when you have cooled down enough.
One of the main reasons for getting a heart rate monitor is to watch the effort that you are producing. As you train, you become better at what you are doing, and you have to work harder to see results.
