Hey Larry,

Hey Larry,

Don't know if your still checking this thread, but count me in for the info and service manual email. After a power outage my Mits Diamond WS-65909 is good for nothing but a strobe effect for a party of fleas.

Please email me at [email protected].

Thanks!

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

First storm of the season out here in the SF Bay area. Turns out that a palm frond falling on the power lines can result in a fried DM board. :) Can I get a copy of those instructions? Thank you. [email protected]

Hello Larry,

Hello Larry,

I have a ws-55909. About a year ago, I replaced the 7 capacitors on the DM board, and my tv was working again. (I did not need to replace any pico fuses.)

I just bought a amplified DTV antenna, but while using the built-in ATSC tuner (I never used it before), my tv slightly pixelates the on screen menu's text and icons. The tv then no longer displays the dtv channels, and sometimes locks up and shuts itself off, the green power light on the front panel starts flashing. After the tv completes booting up, the tv (dtv tuner included) starts working, but only till the reboot and/or freeze happens again.
It does not reboot or mess up while using the 1080i component input...

I did notice while plugging in the amplified antenna, that the dtv antenna connection was noticeably warm. Is it possible something in the ATSC tuner needs to be replaced or rebuilt?

Thanks for your help. Hopefully there is something I can do to fix it.

the problem is not your tv

the problem is not your tv set it is the way the antenna is set-up or aimed?I have been going through this since the digital tv change-over, I purchased 3 different outside digital antenna systems tried to adjust them till I was blue in the face. it depends on where you aqre located or how many trees you have around you waving at you i guess as I finally had to resubscribe to dish-net to get my tv back. I have been hearing this from a lot of customers was the digital thing a government scandal for the cable/ sat. cell phone companies??????as i hear in the big cities everything workout fine so far was it a scam or not??????? I would like to hear from some experts out there. as I am told that now if I purchase a 300.00 antenna system with an a amp, and a rotor, I should be fine. So what good was the 40.00 rebate when it should have been a rebate of at least a few hundred bucks to cover the antenna costs also.
Larry Dillon my opinion free tv is no more and was taken away from us without us knowing about it. we were scammed again by the goverment????????

The best advice I can tell

The best advice I can tell you is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the blinking light kit for your model of set, the kit comes with the high temperature/ high frequency/long life 105 Celsius type capacitors (not those cheap Radio Shack caps) full easy to follow pictorial directions, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem, all kits are shipped out within 24 hours in most cases, 2 to 3 day Priority mail. GOOD LUCK!!!

Did you check the polarity on the caps?  That could definately be the problem if you replaced all of them.
