Cuda, I've ben reading this thread and I believe the same problem just happened to myself about an hour ago. I turned the TV off by mistake. I immediately turned it back on but nothing. I looked in the back and found a 5A fuse which I assume was in the power supply board, anyhow I replaced it and the TV turned on. When I looked at the picture, the three colors are all out of line and the #6 option in the menu to adjust the convergance is now missing. That particular menu would go to #6 and now only goes to #5.
Any help would be appreciated, TV is an RCA 52" projection model # P52920BL,

I started a new thread with my model number but not getting any replies.
I checked a couple of resistors on the power convergence board which were good so now I'm thinking that it's the IC on that board, STKxxx-xxx.

Cuda - I have the same trouble with my R52WH73. I've trouble shot and done research and believe I have a bad pico fuse fl231. I have no convergence option in the menu. I have only had the tv for 1 week after it was given to us from a family member who had no trouble with the unit. I think I know the repair, but could you please send the detailed instructions that you have been sending everyone else? PM me or email at [email protected].
just wanted to tell everyone that Cuda is right, my tv now works perfectly based on his instructions, and the comment on the fuse is part of the problem.
Hi, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sending me the instructions also. It appears I am having the same problem as others, I was watching the TV just fine & next thing I know the screen is distorted almost like 3d without 3d glasses, with red green & blue curve lines at the top and the convergence selection is gone from my menu too. i have a "5"in sony it was made in 06 r 07 and i have basic cable but i can only get 25 of the 99 channels. i swiched it with another tv and got the channels. what do i need to do someone please help.

Think I found out why...The son-in-law did the soldering of all the components and I find that all he installed was the fuse alone and as for resoldering the flyback transformer...he "REFLOWED" the existing solder only...Gonna have a chat with that boy...GRRRRR...Do ya think this might have been the culprit cuda??...
...Hi cuda...We replaced all the parts with new and still not working this time. Never showed a good picture after the replacements and resoldering of everything. There is a series of 4 small resisters on the heat sink across from the flyback that might be the problem. Do you have any of these or know where I can get them??...Thanks again cuda...

I'm having a problem were my RCA M# HD56W66 picture looks like a distorted mirror you find at a carnival looks like 3D. I read It was something to do with CONVERGENCE and a RCA Fl231 fuse. Can you please help me, I appreciate it.
...All I will say is follow cuda's instructions closely and make sure your solder job is good. I resoldered and then reflowed my new solder...after adding the parts he recommended and the RCA is again working fine. I didn't want to speak up too soon and maybe "jinx" the repair, but it's been working fine since Saturday...cuda knows his stuff and it's really nice that he's so willing to help. Thanks cuda...

My screen is also concave and I still have the menu set up on the screen

thanks for the kind words,Yes just take your time and go over the circuit with a sharp eye should fix most of these sets.
