hawkeyes said: Larry- I understand Mitsubishi doesn't give a crap about this problem. The only way to get them to care is if it affects them financially, via lawsuit, or people quit buying their crap. I am merely pointing out to people that I think it would be good to contact Mitsubishi because you have pointed out that the cap fix isn't 100%. What do those people do, use it as a large boat anchor? I deal with failure rates and root cause analysis everyday. The first thing I ask is, "What is the failure rate?" If I can't produce any sizable failure numbers because nobody bothered to enter the data, it's not my problem.
hey hawkeyes ,
I agree with your statement. They may not care , but enough people complain something may get done. I have filed a complaint with the bbb on this matter and with the company. The company wanted me contact info but have yet to respond to it. The bbb they have 14 days to respond. I hope more people bitch and complain til they respond. I will never buy a mitsubishi product again.
Does anyone know how to remove the power board and the dm board on this tv? WD-52525. Do you have to remove the top part of the TV? If anyone out here could please send me some instructions that would be awesome. I cant seem to figure out how to get the boards out of this tv for the life of me.
I hope you are doing well as I have been reading the many posts regarding your personal life. I have also been reading the great information that you have posted regarding the many issues of the Mistubishi WD-52525. Before I tackle on my issue some quick questions that may only need quick answers:
1. My current issue is that the 52525 can still power on but all I get is green screen with blobs, then it may turn to static. But I can still see the menu but it can fade due to the static. Should I be replacing the DLP lamp at this point since I have yet to do so in the 3 - 4 years since I had the TV?
2. After replacing the lamp, should I expect that the "Blinking Green Light of Death" occur after replacing the lamp?
3. If so for #2, can you please send me your document on how to fix this issue by changing the capacitors?
4. Please give me any other information or advice before I start this project of fixing this Mitsubishi 52525.
I have a Mitsubishi DLP WD52725. I have replaced the bulb and thought it would get rid of the blinking green light, but no luck. Pressing the device and menu button worked this time to allow the tv to be able to come on. I have read many responses in this thread and still have questions. I am confident in my technical skills, so do I need to take a look inside? After reading it seems like this is a common problem. From bad DM, capacitors, or power supply board. Could you send me more info on this issue. My email is [email protected]. Thanks so much
So I ended up removing everything DM, POWER, etc... I found that the caps on the DM, power, and some other random caps have already been replaced by someone. I can see how itÂ’s been soldered before by someone. But they replaced the caps with the crappy jamicon brand. All my caps look perfect by sight. NONE of them are raised at ALL. The only caps I could find that were not replaced were 2 on the power board C9A39 and CA9A40 which I have yet to replace.
So I hooked everything back up and decided to test some spots on the power board. First thing I noticed when I plugged the TV in is that only 1 fan turns on. The fan that doesnÂ’t turn on (labeled FN2) I think is plugged into the DM board. Just to test the fans I swapped them and the fan is good because it powers. There are 3 test spots on the power board that show NO voltage. 2 are right by the PA connector. Labeled TP 3.3V, TP 5V, and TP 12V. The 12V is a little below the 2. All of them test with NO voltage at ALL. I think the PA cable goes to the DM board but not sure yet.
Just wanted to share with everyone were IÂ’m at on my MITS SAGA.
Does anyone have any ideas on were to go next with my situation. Or are those test spots supposed to be dead since the TV doesnÂ’t actually turn on? The other test spots show good voltage though.
Any help would greatly be appreciated and if anyone needs any docs I have a few and will be glad to email to you when I get a chance.
3trob, can you email the documents that you have to [email protected]? I have only the service manual but I do need the document from Larry that shows the instructions to replace all caps. Thanks!
Please help! I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 and the bulb was replaced; however, I am now getting a green blinking light that eventually turns red and the tv is without sound or video.
I need any suggestions or help, or replacing capacitors on my WD-52525 Tv. I have order the repair kit that had the capacitors, but I have never soldered or unsoldered anything in my life, I want to do it right, any suggestions?? Thanks in advance

Help please - We have a 52525 Blinking light problem. Want to call service man, but want to understand problem first. We tried unplug and reset - no result. [email protected]
I think I have the same problem as everyone else with th wd52525. Blue screen with just a little fuzz in the middle. Would love to have the instructions for fixing it if possible.
blinking green light also ,model wd-52525 lamp was changed, lamp light still comes on ,t.v. will not power up,just get green light ,then orange lamp light.am told it might be a ballast board that powers the light might be bad.repairman wants $115 just to come to the house ,plus parts and labor, p.s.i. electronics in paramus new jersey, set is just over 31 months, thinking of buying a new television, wow i had no idea this was so common, have enjoyed reading your site. any advice, is grateful.08-22-08
This is some great discussion and I am hoping someone can help me out of my dilemma.
I too have a 2004 Mitsubishi WD52525 that used to work great until recently. For the past week though, it comes up with a green scrambled screen when the unit powers on... sometimes - but goes to blue screen with pin-stripes across the screen some other times. I thought at first that it might be something to do with the Lamp (since I had not replaced it since I bought the TV), but the situation did not change even with a brand new $168 lamp.
So, I got hold of the Service Manual and tried to fish for some info about the symptom - no luck.
This forum is the only place I have found some hope - but all discussion here points to capacitors or blown fuses in the Power Supply... unfortunately, the V26 Service Manual does not tell me how to get to the Power Supply.
If you can point me in the right direction, that would be great... Thanks in advance for the help.
I took the set apart, replaced 4 caps on the FMT board, 4 caps on the DM board, and 4 caps on the power supply. Put it all back together and no more blinking LED! BUT, now I had no picture! Figured I left something out when I put it back together. Sure enough one connector had come loose during reassembly. Put it back and, yep, you guessed it, the blinking green LED is back!
Can someone send me the recommended repair procedure and schematics, if they are available? gslacker AT netzero DOT net

Hello larry, I'm having the same blinking green light problem with my Mitsubishi big screen tv, model # WS-55613. Can you please send me all information that is need to fix it....It will be greatly [email protected]
I'm having the same blinking light issue if someone could send me the info on how to fix it that would be great. My e-mail address is [email protected]
Our warranty company sent someone out who replaced all the capacitors, that didn't fix it. Now they say that the chassis has to be replaced completely, and that they don't make the part anymore, so we have to send it in to be rebuilt.
The warranty department decided it wasn't worth it and cut us a check for the replacement value. Meanwhile, I still have the boat anchor in the basement. Is fixing the chassis something I can do with your manual? It would be a great 2nd TV if I can fix it myself and keep it in the basement.
Your thoughts, or maybe just the manual if you can send it to me please?
