Thanks for the great info.... sure wish I had read this long before making the 5K purchase on the 525 set. It seems that nothing is built to last anymore.
So given the routine troubleshooting issues that I have read what help can you provide about the type of capicators that needs to be replaced on the DM Board? As a non techi I am attempting to get replacement parts but have been unable to secure these items without further information from Digi Key. So what is the specs for the capicators for the DM board. ANY clarification would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise this one is also going to the junk pile after 3 years... Not sure what would be the appropriate replacement....
On another note given the scope of this problem with all the Mitz models is there an opportunity to get any accomodation from the manufacturer?
LOL LMAO, Mitsu will say what are you talking about? They have no idea what your talking about. LMAO!! Many many many shall I go on?? Have tried to no avail, to have then fix their TV sets. I am not insulting you what so ever man!!. Although i have been told Mitsubishi has covered parts in the repair. $3.75 in the cap replacement as the customer was responsible for the labor costs. Another big joke as labor was an additional 400 to 700 bucks.
Larry, Danny. Hi. I would like to have the WD 52725 DLP documents as well, if that would not be too much trouble. Here is my email address [email protected]
Sure, not really too much of a problem man. I will, or shall i say, should have them out to you very shortly? Good Luck with the repair. Remember, you spent a lot on this TV set, DO NOT GO CHEAP on part replacement, you will see what I mean when you see the fantastic highlighted areas, where the defective components are. If you have any doubt they went south, Don't pout, replace them. In other words, replace all that is described in the documents to be sure. Yes there is a possibility that another problem has happened on your TV Set, but My experience tells me that 7 out of 10 set will be fully repaired if this guide is followed to the letter. Good Luck my friend!!
...so now that you have had a good laugh, can you please give some specs on the capicators. Much thanks in advance. I've got my piggy bank ready for the $3.75 hit
i have a wd62525 , the picture show's a honeycomb like screen, do i have to change the DM BOARD? or can i get it REPAIR, and how much will it cost??? email: [email protected]
I have a similar problem as one of these threads were talking about. I have an older Mitsubishi WS-65857 that blinks the green power led 3 times and the set will not come on. Can someone send me the service and troubleshooting manuals? If possible, give me a clue where to look. It would be much appreaciated.
demetrios, there is no so called troubleshooting manual on this model of TV set. You will need to purchace a service manual, but that will also not show you where the troubles with the set are. A service manual only shows the circuit schematic diagrams and you will need to know how to follow the schematic and follow the circuit flow. I wish it was as easy as that. Good Luck.
Might I also get a copy of any useful guides/images/manuals you have for the wd-62525? I think I might be able to afford some new capacitors. My address is [email protected] I really appreciate the help.
I seem to have a similar problem as many of you have listed. I have the WD 62525, and the timer light flashes green. If I unplug the TV for a few minutes, then plug it back it, it will work for anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes, then the screen will have green horizontal lines completely covering it. During this time, I am not able to shut the TV off, or do anything to it. It will then shut itself down, and the green timer light will flash. Does this sound like the capacitor problem or DM board also? If so, or if you have any ideas, could you please email the manual and suggestions to [email protected] Thanks a lot, this is a great forum.
Larry , I to bought a Mit. WD62725 and have the same problem after 3 years. Sound, but no picture. Bought 1 new buld but same thing, light comes on for about 5-10 seconds then turns off and fan runs then tv shuts off, sorry I didn't read the code lights. Can I humbley ask for the same repair documents that have been sent to everyone else. I am a decent DIY but am blessed with a good neighbor that ownes a copier sale/repair busniess and he said he would help me out.
As a matter of fact I do! It is the Radio Shack Cat # 64-2060, and cost about 11 bucks plus tax. It should be available at your local Radio Shack store. You can also go HERE to see what it looks like or in case you wish to order it on-line. Good Luck
Larry Dillon said: What is the model number of your TV set? Also I need an e-mail address to send it. Good Luck

Hello Larry, I am just reposting my previous post. If I could get the repair manual for the set mentioned below I would greatly appreciate it! My email is [email protected] . Also a question for everyone with the same issues.....Has anyone had any success or had to bail out and call the experts??
Thanks again!

There seem to be lots of requests for those DM repair instructions. You're the hero of Mitsubishi owners across the nation!
I'm planning on following the instructions I've read from several of these threads on Techlore tonight. I have the service manual and the replacement capacitors. I was wondering if your repair manual might shed some extra insight into this project.
Could I please have a copy as well for my WD-62725 to [email protected] ?
Hello, I also have the dreaded WD-62525, and when powered on, get a honeycome/non moving static like picture, and sound. None of the set generated menu's will appear, however they seem to function(can change devices, volume, etc.) any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Oh yeah, some caps have been replaced, however I was out of town, so my wife had it fixed, I couldn't tell you which ones. The problem that time was no picture after bulb replacement and red light. Thanks again!
Bill, Warren, and HDTV, I will be sending out the repair docs. to you all shortly. Good luck. GOWYO, I need an e-mail address to send you the repair docs. Good Luck on the repairs.
I unfortunately am another victim to the WD-62525 issues as seen above. I replaced my bulb after my Mits of 3.5 yrs displayed the dreaded solid red status light and it still does the same thing after the install. The bulb I pulled out did not seem to have any issues either. From reading the threads...it appears to be a power supply or ballast issue and if you could email me the repair docs you are sending to others, I would greatly appreciate it and be happy to post the results.
Hi Larry, I would greatly appreciate the repair documents as well. My WD-62525 decided to start giving me the error code 34 with the solid red status light as well even after replacing the bulb.
Larry thanks so much again for taking the time out of your day to send the docs and all of your information.I really appreciate it alot!! I hope this works. Maybe long enough to pawn it off and get something else! haha!
Good Luck, that's the general Idea I hope most people have with these Sets as they are not designed, or engineered as they used to be. I used to recommend nothing BUT Mitsubishi TV sets. Not any more man!! Now if they stood behind known problems with people, i would still say the Mitsubishi looks better then anything else around! problem is though, They do not last long.
Joe, I will send those out to you ASAP this morning. Good luck

Hello Larry<
Do you have a recommendation for a sodering gun for use on the DM board?
As a matter of fact I do! It is the Radio Shack Cat # 64-2060, and cost about 11 bucks plus tax. It should be available at your local Radio Shack store. You can also go HERE to see what it looks like or in case you wish to order it on-line. Good Luck
