Panasonic Bookshelf Stereo SA-PM28

Help! Although I've had this stereo over a year, if I've used it more than 25 times it's a lot. Now it will play the first track on a CD and stop. I can get to track 2 only by pushing the fast forward button on the machine, but then it stops after the 2nd song. It's a 5 CD changer and happens in all CD trays and on all CDs. The problem is definitely not my CD. Any ideas? THANKS SOOOOO much!

Genesis 1.1's? New to audiophile status.

Hello all.
I have a couple question's, and I hope I am putting this in the correct place as I run a top pc tech help site and I know it's a pain to move all the thread's..

My Father recently passed away and left me some things. The question I have is about these speaker's he left me. From what I can tell they are Genesis 1.1, I think its a point. Now I have tried for a day or so trying to find info on these but only find Bible references. These things are huge.. There at least 6 and a half feet, and the wiegh more than my house. lol..

Surround sound - help me

I purchased a nice Sony surround sound set of speakers and also a Sony reciever to match. I only really wanted it for my tv but I cannot get the tv sound, only the radio when selected. I have it hooked up to the audio out 2 ( red and white ) of the tv then to the matching plugs of the reciever. What am I doing wrong?

surround sound with powered speakers?

Here is what I have

Front left and right: KRK Rokit 8" powered speakers
Rear left and right: KRK Rokit 5" powered speakers
sub: KRK Rockit powered 10" sub

now here is my dilema:

I'm only using the front left and right and the sub, and i'm using them with my PC only, however I want to use them with my home theater system, and I would love surround sound, however I dont know if I can use powered speakers with a receiver. My speakers all use balanced inputs (xlr and 1/4"), so what type of receiver do I need? is this even possible? i hope so!

problem with bose speakers

Hi everyone. I am an a/v technician and recently i was hooking up a bose lifestyle system and encountered a problem. i hooked up all the speakers to the bose subwoofer provided and when i played a dvd all the speakers were working properly. but when i switched the input to tv one speaker would not work. thinking it was a bad input connection on the subwoofer i then hooked up the speakers directly to the yamaha receiver that was provided. and the one speaker still didn't work. the dvd was obviously a dolby digital 5.1 broadcast and the tv show was also broadcast in 5.1.
