Video Playback / Recording Devices

Bush2047 DVD Player

It's been fine for ages, although we don't use it often. Lately it has developed a bright green screen and tints all DVDs, either commercial or homemade with a green shade. It is connected to the TV with a scart and that's in solid. The whol TV/PVR?DVD was disconnected not long ago due to a perceived problem with the TV, which wasn't positive and I think this fault is after that.

vhs problem

i just bought a dvd video recorder/ video cassette recorder. This also allows me to copy my VHS videos to DVDs. The only thing im not sure about is if the erase-protection (Macrovision)tab is needed for this. If i have the tab on it…will that risk the chance of something being copied onto the VHS? cause all i want to do is copy to the dvd.

I have some store-bought VHS tapes that are taking up space that I'd like to convert to DVD and DVR (cable box) to DVD . Some or all of them are undoubtedly copy-protected. I intend to keep the tapes as long as I have the copies, but I want to put them in storage. If not, is there another way to do this?

DVD's from VHS - recordings are very poor!

I have a problem with my Sony combination player/recorder.  You are supposed to be able to record the VHS tape directly on to a blank DVD.  When I do this step, I lose probably 25% or more of the quality.  Last nite I spent almost an hour on the Sony website chatting with a rep and it seemed as though I was talking to the Uklranian who pretended to be Peggy!  After all was said and done, he told me what I already knew....analog to digital is not the best situation.
