I have a problem with my Philips LX3000D DVD player and home cinema surround sound system, which I am hoping someone can offer some advice for.

Widescreen DVD not diplaying correctly on a widescreen TV

I have a DVD (produced in the US, I'm told it's non-regional), playing on a UK DVD payer connected to a widecreen TV, and it recognises the disk, plays the film but the image fills the height of the TV screen and so I'm missing an area at both the left and right of the picture. I think I've tried every setting on the DVD player and TV, but can't get it to show the full picture. PLaying on a computer works fine. Can anyone hep me figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Problem with sony handycam mini dvd

I have this problem. My friend was filming my birthday with a Sony handycam. Everything was ok. But when I tried to watch the videos in the morning cam only showed question marks and after few unsuccessful attempts it only showed that movie recording is disabled and dvd is full. It even doesn't let me finalize it and when I connect it to the computer, it shows no files, but all the dvd is full. Could you recommend me a software which could fix this problem? Or at least capture my videos? I would be very grateful for your answers.

dvd/dvd-r/vhs

My old VHS is slowly giving up the ghost and so we have decided to move with the times and get one of those DVD/HDD recorder things. The problem is that we have a stack of store bought videos that my kids still want to watch. I'm not looking to start a pirate movie business but I think it fair for me to copy those movies over to DVD for personal use. Does anyone have any suggestions or links that can help? Cheers in advance.
