Video Playback / Recording Devices

My Panasonic Dmr-Hs2 hdd recorder is locked in a "RECOVER" "U11" "Bye" cycle which I CANNOT get it out of. This thanks to a bad MEMOREX cartridge DVD-RAM disc which I cannot eject. (That brand should be officially OUTLAWED.) I've searched this forum as well as WholeWideWeb & AVS, and I cannot find a solution that works, short of opening the unit which I am loathe to do for fear of damaging it. I've tried the suggested button combos, tried unplugging & leaving for a while, resetting it, nothing works.

My DVD player won't play the commentary on my dvd. I have succeeded in playing the same DVD's commentary on my computer. This is really vexing me. Can anyone help?

I just purchased and BenQ dvd-rw drive and i looking to install it. It did not come with any kind of calble etc and i am wondering if i will need one to install the unit or will the hookup needed already be on my comp ? The drive is a BenQ DW1620 and my computer is a HP Pavilion z2000n , i have never installed a drive before and it came without any manuel so im kind of in the dark. Just want to know if i have to purchase some type of extra ribbon or cable to actually hook the drive up before i start taking my comp apart.
