Television and Home Theater

Hi I have a SONY triniton 100hz digital plus tv, its about five years old and have never had any problems, but just recently it keeps turning off, I will leave it for a while then turn it back on and its ok for a while. is my tv ready to die any info would be very much appreciated. thanks Markuk

I have almost the same problem as the others but if I leave mine on for 2 to 3 hours the picture works fine and have no more trouble all day and night, is my problem the same as the others? thanks Ron M.

If i switch it off at the wall rather than the On/Off button? I'm thinking of buying one of the TV timers available to restrict the amount of TV my kids watch. Has anyone used any of the devices before? It works by cutting the power to the TV - will this damage my TV? I have an LCD in main room and they have small CRT's in their bedrooms.
