I have a samsung projection TV HCL4715W. The picture went black while the TV was on and since then other than sound, there is no picture. I opened the TV and can't see any light in the CRT. Called in a technician and he said that the deflection board was gone and that there was no high voltage. Suggested $400 to repair it with a replacement board which I refused. Checked online for the price of the board and bought it online for $170.
I replaced the PCB SUB board AA95-00705A, however the TV just made a screeching noise when it was plugged in and the same problem exists again. Any suggestions? Larry D.. help..
Thanks,
C
Disconnect your convergence IC"s. These are most likely what caused the problems in this TV set. The original problem could have been the convergence IC's went bad and the beam protection circuit kicked in and killed the High Voltage so you did not damage the picture tubes in the set. You will need a service manual as well as the knowledge to read a schematic, solder and use of a multi- meter. Good Luck
I can't disconnect the convergence IC's as they are part of the PCB SUB board that I had replaced. After replacing the board, do I have to replace the High Voltage distributer?
The convergence IC's had gone bad in the past, but other than a distorted picture, the set was still working.
I have the service manual and know how to solder and use a multimeter. The schematic points to verify various outputs on the PCB board. I had replaced the entire board, so the problem could be lying somewhere else.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
If you have an electronic schematic, forward me a copy at [email protected] and we will see.
