Television and Home Theater

 this is a new one in my shop. not the normal stk and green pico fuses. also had one of these where i had to change both proscan board and didgital board. but in the later case i had full deflection both hor and vert but with horendase out of conver. screen. this one the set comes on then off then on. turning the screen control up i see a vert prob not a line. but more a "how can i put it" cat's eye. from right toleft gets bigger in the middle. have tryed vert la7845 have 2 supply's both + and - getting to chip.

I have an older (about 10-12 yrs old) Sony 27" Trinitron.  In the past two weeks, when the set is turned on, the screen remains black, then blinks intermittently for the next couple of minutes, with the periods of picture getting longer and the period of black getting shorter, until eventually the screen just stays on.  My brother, who has a tech background says he thinks its a capacitor, it probably will get worse then go, and its not worth the effort to try to repair.  This set has served me well and owes me nothing, but I like it and would be willing to watch the 27&q

I could really use your help. What would cause my Sony Tv to come on fine with a clear crisp picture but withen, 10 seconds to 30 minutes it will go completely Blue? Sont tech says bring it in as it is only a 70.00 dollar part(plus labor), and i just went thru this with another item. But, Forums like this one have been saying it is much easier than this.

I have a thread that says to take off front panel and adjust a knob, anybody have an idea?
