CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY A THIN BLACK LINE WOULD BE IN THE CENTER OF MY 42" LCD SCREEN,IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR THE LAST WEEK AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT STARTED.I PHONED UP A ELECTRICAL SHOP AND STRAIGHT AWAY THEY SAID A NEW MAINS BOARD?????? AND TOLD ME IT WILL COST £200+ CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS OR HOW IT WOULD GET THERE.....IT ONLY REALY SHOW'S ALOT ON THE DARK BACKGROUND PICTURES AND IS ALSO THERE WHEN PLAYING A DVD.COULD IT BE MY SCART LEAD OR IS IT THE SCREEN ITSELF
A thin black line, which I'm assuming is running vertically from top to bottom, is usually indicative of a bad LCD panel.
thanks for the comment MOtvGuy.......yes the the line runs vertical, can this be fixed??? or is it not fixable?????..............i was told it could be where the pixels are gone on that line and it may fix itself by turning the tv on and offa few times, but i dont know about that.....could a new mains board be the solution, any more helpful comments would be brilliant THANKS
That's a bad LCD panel. Fixable? Yes. Cost efficient? No.
hi,thanks again for the reply....................what would it take to fix the problem,is it a new mains board????or is it something else..i phoned up currys electrical store and they told me about £200+ but plus what???? .......THANKS AGAIN
