Larry Dillon said: If you are handy, and can solder, you may be able to save about 700 bucks if not more. There is a very common problem with these Mitsubishi TV sets. There is a digital board inside these puppies called the DM board. A lot of times there are four capacitors that go bad inside of these TV sets. Sometimes, depending on how bad the capacitors are, and if the capacitors did not blow out anything else on the Dm board, you can simply replace these four capacitors and this will fix your TV set. The average that this works on is about 65 to 70 % of the sets can be repaired with this fix. The others are power supply issues or the DM board has other issues. If you would like to attempt to repair your TV set, I will send you the instructions on how to do so.  If you do not know how to solder well, do not attempt to replace the capacitors yourself. Pay a pro to do this for you. After all you are already saving a bundle of cash. Leave an e-mail address, and I will forward you the fix with and without the light engine. And if the capacitors inside the board are not swollen on the tops, as the direction shows you what they look like, change the capcitors anyway. I have had a few that looked good but the capacitors were on their way out. Good Luck

I am having the same problem with the blinking green light. Can you send me the repair instructions? Thank you

Larry Dillon I have replaced

Larry Dillon I have replaced the 7 caps on my WS-55859 from the dreaded green blinking light. Now the TV powers up after blinking for 60 seconds but no picture or sound and after about 5 minutes the TV powers off. I have tried resetting and unplugging but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions or mistakes I could have made.

Thanks in advance,
Kahuna

Kahuna, Look on the main

Kahuna, Look on the main board, in the power supply and check the fuses marked, F9A04, and F9A05. Also check the fuses marked F9A02 and F9A03. let me know if any of these are open.

Thanks Larry, I will check

Thanks Larry, I will check those when I get hoe tonight
Do you have a schematic of the board to aid in locating them
I do not have a service manual

Thanks again

BTW When I do the error code

BTW When I do the error code I get 12 blinks
which I understood means everything is okay, although it is obviously not.
Thanks

Hi Larry,

Hi Larry,

Yesterday I ordered those capacitors yesterday from diglink but have not heard anything other than the confirmation email that they received my order. How long does it usually take for them to ship your order out.

Worth a shot for you

BTW Larry my email is [email protected]
if you have anything to send to assist me.

Thanks All

Larry Dillon
Big Kahuna, the Radio Shack

Big Kahuna, the Radio Shack capacitors are fine and will work, but it is highly recommended that you use the high temp type capacitors.

Larry Dillon
GMD, what is your model

GMD, what is your model number of the set you have?

Larry,

Sorry, Model #WS-65513

Thanks again.

Its a WS-65713. I notice the RS compacitors are 35 volt vs the 16v that are in there now. Does that make a difference

Larry, When you check the

Larry, When you check the fuses on the circuit board with an Ohm meter do you get a correct reading when it is still attached to the board or do you have to take them off the board to accurately see if they are open??

Thanks

Larry,

Larry,

I have a Mits WS-55813 that has the green blinking light problem. Could you send me the service docs ans info?

Thanks,

Ron

[email protected]

Larry Dillon
JWA, You do not need to

JWA, You do not need to remove the fuses to get the correct reading. It should measure a short across them.

Larry Dillon
The 35 volt capacitors will

The 35 volt capacitors will not fit on the board properly. If you can get them to fit with the case on, not a problem. You need at least 16 volt capacitors

Larry Dillon
Ron and GMD, I will send out

Ron and GMD, I will send out those documents as well as the service manual a little later this evening. Good Luck with the repair.

JWA
Larry thanks for the info. So

Larry thanks for the info. So if I can get a reading that means they are still good, is that correct

Can someone send me a picture

Can someone send me a picture with all the connectors hooked up on the ws-65513 boards. I replaced my caps and there is one red wire with a 2 pin connector on it, not sure where that went , or maybe it wasn't hooked up?

                                                                Thanks

Larry Dillon
Yes JWA. amos, where does the

Yes JWA. amos, where does the other side hook up to? There is an interconnection wire diagram on the first page of the schematics, in the back of the service manual.

Sorry it took so long to post

Sorry it took so long to post back, but it has been crazy with the holidays and all. I followed these instructions and replaced the bad caps, and now the Tv is working like a champ. Thanks Larry you are awsome.

Larry Dillon
JWA, no, you do not have to

JWA, no, you do not have to take the fuses off the board to get a correct reading. It is open, or will measure a short acrossed it. The short across the fuse is what you want. If you get no reading , or very little reading, the fuse is bad.  The 35 volt capacitors will work fine if you can fit them into the board and then into the case.
