Hey Larry I started searching for the fuses last night with no luck on finding them yet. I had some company come over and had way too many cocktails so it is postponed another day. I did pull them DM again and double checked all my solder joints and did find two spots that were loose, re-soldered and with much excitement reinstalled the board with no difference made. I still could use a diagram of their location if anyone has that available. Thanks so much for everyones help. I would love to be watching TV this weekend if possible
Hi Larry, I got my stuff ready and am in the process of puting everything back together. I have a problem, I have one connector that I cannot figure out where it goes. It drops down from above and has 4 female connecters on it. The wires are red, blue, brown, and yellow and the connecter is gray and has the letters D and Y on it. I dont have the schematics. You snet them but I dont have the program to open them
Hey Larry I located & checked all 4 fuses and not one of them was open. Any suggestions as to what to try next. Should I just replace the dm board? Thanks in advance again, Kahuna
I have the tv away from the house but I sure will check to see where the red wire goes. The only schematics I have I bought online service manual. I will take a look at it again to see if I can find the wiring diagram?
JWA, you should have two more of them just like it on the board. Do not attempt to plug in the set without finding out where this plug goes. It may be for a convergence yoke, ot the main deflection yoke. It should go to a sub- deflection board. Look carefully and I am sure you will see two other connectors like that. If not look for an open plug connection and make sure it fits properly.
Big Kahuna Look very carefully at the way you are installing the board. It is very easy to install it wrong. Other then that, you may or you may not have a bad Dm board.
Ok Larry, thanks. I will look again tomorrow for the connector but I had no luck today. If I cant find it maybe I should email you a digital pic so you know exactly what I am talking about. Is that OK?
Larry Dillon said: Do you see what the model number is on this thread man? Gosh! Your model has nothing to do with this Problem. I would be more then happy to assist you if this was the issue,
Larry,
Would you mind looking at my thread for the WS-55909. I've had no replies and this is the wrong thread. Thought about a PM but your reply may help someone else. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Larry I had changed to the proper thread for my 55859 but wasn't sure if you would still be checking it, so here is what I said: (Larry I jumped to this thread because it has my correct model number. My DM just screws onto a shelf in a seperate box unlike the ones that needed to be seated properly. I am also ordering "Nichicon Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors - 105 Degree 1000UF 25V - RoHS: non-compliant/CONTAINS Pb" from Mouser if these will work better and replace the 85C. Do you have any documentation service/repair/etc. that would assist me. [email protected] I had a service guy in the beginning pull everything and tested the DM and said that it was good. He made a call to another service tech and was told the DM was definately bad. Anyway he just put everything back without plugging any of it back together and I am not sure there isn't something I could have missed. As stated in other thread I replaced the magnificent 7 and checked all the fuses but still do not get picture or sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know you are hammered everyday with request from several people. I am certainly grateful for your time and expertise to all the responses. Thanks again, Kahuna)
New member as of today. Found the forum and this is great. I have a Mitsubishi WS-B55 (special for Best Buy I've been told) and it has the blinking green light problem. Could you send me any information to help me resolve this issue. My email is [email protected].
Thanks very much and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you for your information on the repair. The estimates I had were any where form $600-$800 and 7-10 days. With your instructions I completed the repair in 1 ½ hours and for only $2.00 in parts. (Plus the wife let me buy a new soldering rig) Thank you again. GMD
Larry, "you are the man". I finally got it going. It is like you said about the DM board. I took it on and off 5 times but finally got it right. It doesnt line up if you just press it down. You have to play with it to you fell it snap in. Thanks again!
Well Larry, not sure if you are interested in helping anymore but just in case: tonight I unplugged every cable leaving the dm one at a time (powered off tv each time) and each time the tv behaved the same as when hooked up. Flashed for 60 sec. then powered up and the crt's lit up then dimmed as usual. The only exception was when I disconnected the DA harness, then the green just continues to blink. If this info helps you lead me to a good diagnosis it would be most appreciated. Remember I have the WS-55859 that has the DM in a separate box. Thanks in advance for any assistance from anyone in this forum. Happy Holidays to everyone here. Kahuna [email protected]
After reading the posts it sounds like you are the expert on this issue Larry. I also am having the blinking green light issue on my Mitsubishi TV.
for the longest time I would just unplug it from the wall, wait a second than plug it back in and that would uaually rectify the light and the TV would come on. not now, I only get a blinking green light and nothing else.
Big Kahuna, Your problem is not the DM if the light goes off and the set turns on. It is something is left out, or there is a power supply or sweep failure. Without diagnosing it, It is a hard call my friend.
Great news GMD11 and JWA. It is great when you can save that kind of cash. Thats a little more then pocket change to. Oh, btw, don't forget to take out the front screen and clean the lens and mirror, it makes the world of difference to the picture. Merry Christmas.
Thanks again Larry for the helpful insight and time. I have noticed you email several people factory service manuals. Would you have one for mine WS-55859 V-19 chassis. If so thanks in advance. email is [email protected]
Thanks for the great Christmas present Larry. I know with all your help I will get my issues with solved. I am very indebted and if you have a place for donations I would love to contribute. Thanks a million, Kahuna
