Good evening...I had a panasonic being stored in a garage...I went today , plugged it in, turned it on and it worked...I left it plugged in...then when I finially had someone able to deliver it, the put it on its back...drove slowly to my house, carefully brought it in (i was watching them), and set it down. I waited til the tv got to room temperature before even plugging it in, and whammo...the light blinks three times,(red light beside power button)...and it wont turn on. It does if I unplug it, come on with no power and no sound...but them after 2 seconds does the red light thing. How can it be broken when it was JUST working a few hours ago?

It happens like that.

It happens like that. Electronics aren't biased about when they tear up and the only way you can notice it is when your using it which is conveniently when most deside to fail.

Condensation caused this,

Condensation caused this, there are many heat sinks that moisture will condense on when it is brought in from cold storage, when you turned it on in the garage no water droplets had formed on the heat sinks. In the house water droplets formed on the heat sinks then dripped onto the board. when you turned the tv on whatever circuit had condensation on it malfunctioned. This may or may not have permanently damaged the tv. If you are lucky the problem was due to the circuit malfunctioning while water was across the wires, and once the water has evaporated may work fine, but the water can also overload some circuits and cause component failure. Water for a short period of time on an unplugged electronics with no power at all will not harm the board, as long as the water does not hang around for more than a few hours. I would have waited at least overnight to allow the condensation to evaporate before turning it on.

Having welded more than my

Having welded more than my share of metal, I'm constantly bringing it in from outside and condensation hardly ever happens. You would have to have almost perfect conditions for it to form, around freezing conditions and very high humidity for almost any to appear with the change in temperature of bringing it into a house. Even then it's a very small amount, that most likely would have evaporated by the time it reached room temp. Any amount of water even evaporated condensation is bad for any any metal, it can cause corrosion especially with surface mounted ic's since the pins are grouped so closely together corrosion tends to bridge pins.
