Larry Dillon said: There is no service manual to "walk you through" the repair. I do have a document with pictures of bad capacitors but you will need to know how to find the right boards and how to solder. If you left an e-mail address, i could send you what I have. Good Luck
Hi Larry,
Can you send me information about the capacitor replacement issue on WD-52525? gyeap at yahoo.com. Thanks.
I replaced two caps (3300uF, 10V) that are obviously buldging on the power supply board. But the fast flashing green timer LED is still there. Perhaps there are more caps to be replaced? I measured the caps and found that they have current leak and reduced capacitance. This probably caused them to overheat and buldge.
I notice that the two caps are of a different brand than those on the rest on the board. Most of the caps are of "nichicon" brand. There are some "Jamicon" brands as well. These two brands are not buldging but I know it's hard to judge a cap by just looking.
I too have the same problem with my tv. I have the WD-52725 with the blinking green light. I have read many threads, but I do not have a manual to tell me how to take off the the metal casing to goe to the dm board. I did take off the back cover and it looks like the 3 metal cases are inter connected. I dont know if I have to take out the whole chassis. Just looking for HELP PLEASE. my email is [email protected]
are the caps for the dm board and the power board interchangable
I did look at where you ordered them from and noticed different numbers
I have bought caps from radio shack 35v will these work
Caps should be replaced with the same "capacitance" such as 1000uF for proper signal regulation. The voltage rating should be the same or higher (cost more). Temperature rating should also be the same or higher. Judging from the high failure rate of these capacitors, higher voltage or temperature rating should help.
The most likely faiure model for these caps are probably voltage spike that starts to punch through the capacitor, causing leakage current. This in turn heats up the capacitors and caused them to buldge and fail.
The buldging cap taken out of my TV set is leaking with several tens of uA, and its capacitance reduced by about half.
I have had the blinking green timer light also. Service tech did a reset, waited a couple minutes, then told me since it was still blinking that it was probably the DM module. He said they would need to replace 3 different boards to try to fix the problem at a cost of $600-650. If that didn't work they would need to replace the chassis at an additional $50 cost for shipping etc. Does that sound right or am I getting ripped off? I felt a little annoyed that they spent less than 10 min. here and charged me $75 when I already told them all this info over the phone.
Larry,
I also have a WD-62525 with the Flashing green light. Is it possible to email the fix? Is there a place that has repair kit with the parts needed? Thanks so much.
Hey Larry, I would very much like any info reguarding the same problem with the WD-52525. I am going to order the bulb that actually went out a year ago. If it doesn't work I would like to know my next steps. I am very handy with electronics after my 10yr Navy stint. [email protected]
Larry, I have the blinking green lights as well on my WD-62525. This happened imeadiatly folowing the replacement of the lamp. Could you please send me any documentation/manuals on repairing it and any part numbers for the caps? Thanks.
hey larry, I have a mitsu mod WS-65909 that still has the green light blinking, even after changing all seven caps on the DM board. It came on once then when I unplugged it to move it across the room, the green light just keeps on flashing and will not stop. I used 25v 1000uf caps instead of the origianal 16v 1000uf ones. any other suggestions?
The utility company shut off power for a repair, and now I have the blinking green light. Neither the reset nor unplugging for an extended period of time seems to help. It looks like Larry has a solution. Can you help me?

I've recently replaced my Mitsubishi WD52525 with a new LCD. After sitting unplugged for about 36 hrs, I tried to power it up for someone that wanted to buy it. Well, it didn't want to boot. I think it may be the capacitor problem, and was wondering if anyone had a copy of the Service Manual so that I might figure out how to safely pull the DM board. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Current symptoms are: when plugged in I get approximately 11-12 green rapid flashes of the status light, fallowed by a pause then the cycles repeats. This status light pattern appears to repeat continuously. If I listen closely I can hear something trying to spin up, then it shuts down at the end of the status light cycle, and then tries again with the status light cycle starts over.

Larry could I also get this info please. I am on my third lamp in 3 years!!! Don't know if it is worth keeping if I have to buy a lamp every year? Shouldn't there be some kind of Mitsubishi recall for this problem that everyone is having? I know I will never buy another Mitsubishi TV and will give that advice to whoever will listen! [email protected]
Hello Larry,
Please send me the info on the fix. I would really appreciate it. Just finished replacing my lamp and the green blinking light doesnt stop and I cant power the tv on.
Thank you very kindly.
I was just give a Mitsubishi WD-52525 from someone who was throwing it out. The green light flashes on power up and nothing else. The previous owner said a repair man quoted him $600 for a fix and that it was a bad board. After reading the previous posts, Im hoping you can e-mail me the fix. Thanks in advance!
