I have a WD52525 with the green blinking light similar to many others noted throughout this thread it appears. I have purchased the list of replacement capacitors that are known do be a problem but the service manual I have doesn't include any details on the boards that show where to put each capacitor. I have never fixed a TV like this but do have experience soldering so thought I would give it a shot. I was hoping I could get a copy of your repair instructions so that I could have all the info I can get before I tear this thing apart. I recently had to replace the power board and the light engine and I need to download the data into the dm board, How do you do that, do you use the remote??

I have a WD52525 with the blinking green light that occurs after the TV has been off for several hours. The TV shuts down normally, but by next morning the green LED is flashing. Recycling power and waiting 1 min resets the flashing green LED and I can operates the set normally.
I suspect that it will be only a matter of time where recycling power will not reset my green flashing LED problem.
larry i two feel into the red light nightmare. i have a wd 52525 one year ago i had the (engine replaced by a tv repair man) he took the set and said it was either the power supply or the color engine. two months later a bulb went out. replaced it. now the fast blinking green light. If i unplug the tv i get a fast blinking green for about a minute ao so then it goes off. i try to start the tv and it tryies to come on then fans start 3 seconds later the red light flashes i get a red light that has one long and three short blinks. if i hit the reset button i get the fast green light. Please help i have spent enough money on this thing now i need to do it myself .

I guess you are the man. I also have the blinking green light problem with my Mitsubishi WD-52525. Could you please send me the repair info for this issue. It's nice to know there are people out there like yourself willing to help out with these manufacturer design flaws. I am sure Mitsubishi knows of this problem but I guess this is the way things are anymore. Hard to get anything lasting more than a couple years before it needs some kind of repair.
Just a FYI,
I changed out the capacitors out of the WD-52725 and still have problems. I measured voltages on the Power supply board and found that I'm missing 12V, 5.5V, & 3.3V. :(
I can't believe Mitsubishi made such a piece of crap..
I had a chance to look at the TV, this is what I did/noticed.
I plugged set in and waited until the green timer light stopped blinking ( the tv set had been unplugged for several weeks). I didn't have any type of video source routed to the set. I wanted to see if a could get a clean/locked menu display.
Powered the set up:
A message appeared asking if the bulb had been replaced; I pressed cancel (the bulb has never been replaced). However, while the message was up, it look as if the picture was having trouble locking and was breaking up.
I pressed menu:
The picture was still unstable, but the a menu did appear. I changed the antenna selection the antenna ( I have no antenna connected). The audio went to noise and the screen was white noise. The menu display was still unstable.
Then the set stated that the bulb needed replacing.
So, I will try a new bulb. My question is, will a bad bulb cause an unlocked picture?
Are there any diagnostics that can be run to determine which part is bad? I can use a 0-scope and meter. Do you have any documentation which can help? service manual?

For all of you that are having problems with your TV, I found a web site that is investigating Mitibushi TV issues for a possible class action lawsuit against them. http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com/case/Mitsubishi-DLP-televisions.html Not sure if anything will ever come of it but the more people that sign up the higher the probability of something happening.

I have been repairing TV sets for close to 20 yrs. now. In my experience the Mitsu WD-52525 can be a real nightmare to fix. I have found that the blinking LED prob. is one of three things. Either you are missing one, or more supply voltages from the power supply, The Digital Module(DM) has bad filter caps, or the Formatter(FMT) Bd. has bad filter caps. I have found bad caps in many of these. you can usally tell them by the bulge on the top. The DM and the FMT Bd. each use four (1000uf) caps to filter the DC supplies to them. The blinking indicates that the system software is loading. If one of these Bds.is not getting it's correct supplies this routine does not complete. I have replaced caps and still come up with bad Bds. Not to mention the 100 screws you will have to remove just to get to them. SO if youre brave enough to take this one on, Know this...Mitsubishi has recently informed me that these modules are on nationwide back order for up 7 Months. GOOD LUCK.........

I am surprised at all the folks who are willing to do this kind of repair themselves, i'am a tech of 30yrs and was scared the first time i encountered these 525 repair, i would say for those who have no technical or soldering background they might make matters worse and render thier sets unrepairable, such electronics repair should be done by technically qualified persons, i do not condone the transfering of fix it info to persons who are known not qualified. At a Mitsubishi symposium hosted by/at the recent NPSC convention in Buffalo NY it was stated by the Mitsubishi rep that half of these modules when they finaly arrive to them they have major board damage and these are caused by "do it yourselfer" and do cause major return delays.

Based on your comments I can tell you know what's going on.
I had already changed some bad caps found on the FMT board, but this didn't fix the problem
I am suspecting that my power supply is failing. Originally I had probed the connectors and found 4 of the connectors were not putting out power.. but that was due to "PON-2" not getting any power to turn on 4 connectors. But taking look at the standby power supply, one of those connectors should have been putting out a 3.3V voltage down the PA (which goes to the DMD Unit).
I assume the DMD Unit is a microprocessor? Is this correct?
Any case now I'm reverse engineering from the 3.3V line in the PA connector to see if a FET or the PW module is failing. No clue what to expect, but plan to pull the part # manuals and read to see which pin is what.

Background: use to do stereo repair work in college so I'm comfortable around this stuff. Wish that I had the actual schematic of the power supply board so I don't have to trace the traces. I guess that's the $$$ manual that requires a license (which I don't have).

you have a bad light engine or ballast, or maybe a bad dm board. good Luck!

I also registered with the law suit.. would be great if they get Mitsubishi to fix our TVs or at least some money back for our troubles of fixing it.

just started nothr round of chemo today and man it sucks. I am certainly going to try and beat this thing!!
