I initially had the common blinking problem with Mit WS-55813 and a shop rebuilt the PCB for $750. Last week after the 3-mo warranty, the TV has randomly turned off by itself in the middle of a program so I have to manually turn it back on again.
Either it was was not rebuilt correctly or something else is loosen. May I have a list of some repair instructions on the WS-55813 that you have shared with many others? Thanks in advance!

I Just got my WS 55813 back from the shop. The blinking light is gone now however the HD picture is terrible. To top that off, only had set back for a few hours when the demon returned. The set turned off all by it’s self and the light of doom returned. It has quit blinking and we can turn the set on once again. But how long will it last this time?
Yep, it sure seems that something is not right. And 750 bucks for 4 capacitors that cost less then 5 bucks is a rppoff, I am afraid you have been had my friend.
I have a Mitsubishi WS 48-513 with the same blinking green light (initially, anyway, but now the TV is completely gone, won't turn on). Can you please e-mail me whatever documents or service manual you have. Thank you very much for your help.

Larry, you are a very popular and valuable resource. If you have the time. . . I too have have a 55813 and would greatly appreciate repair docs and service manual to fix the blinking problem: [email protected]. Also, any calibration instructions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your expertise throughout this thread and others, and for the articles you've written.
Larry - I'm brand new here (got here by searching the net) and have the blinking green light problem with my Mitsubishi 55813... I've tried removing power for several minutes and resetting the TV - nothing works. Looks like you have helped out a lot of folks with this problem - will please send me the fix procedure and anything else you have that might help me keep this TV working correctly (eg service manuals/cal procedures).. Email: [email protected]
Hi Larry. I am also another victim of the blinking green light of death. I have a Mitsubishi WS55813. Can you please send me the instructions for this fix. My email is [email protected]. Thank you.
I guess I could forward you the repair fix. Remember to follow to the letter and use the right capacitors. I have had loads of askers go to their local Radio Shackes and use those cheap replacement caps. Then are complaining after a few months about the set doing the same thing. I will send out the repair info ASAP to you. Good luck with this repair.
Hello Larry.
Sounds like you're the expert on the Blinking Green Light of Death. A pox has infected my WS55813, and it's the BGLOD. Could you please send me the information to fix this? My email is [email protected]. Thank you.
Hi Larry, I am experiencing the same blinking green light problem as everyone else with my WS-55813. You are such a valuable resource! Can you please send me the repair docs, service manuals, etc. to help fix this problem?
Him Larry, This is Mike Nunez. I'm Glad I found this web page. Listen, I bought a Mitsubishi WS-55313 T.V back in 04. This set worked great up until about 3 months ago. The picture started going out of focus, and it also seemed to be out of proportion. Also at the bottom of the picture a black ark appeared about 1" thick. Also I had to go into the setup menu and adjuste the convergence settings almost once a week. I finally had a tech come out and check the unit. He inspected the unit and pointed out to what seemed to be at least to me a video card I may be wrong about the card description, these card is located on the far left side, loocking in from the back of the t.v unit. he pointed out to some corroded cicuit conections and said that that card had to be replaced. Now I'm by no means a tv expert like you seem to be. But I've been an automotive technician for the past 18 years so I'm very mechanicaly inclined. Any way I cleaned the corrosion on the circuit and the unit worked good for about 1 month , up until last night the tv was turned off and of the sleep we went. Today my wife tried to turn the unit on and we were unable to turned it on. I checked the electrical conections in the back, and they seamed to be fine, I unpluged the power cord from the board & pluged it back in, the green light in the front came on, blinked for about 3 seconds and whent off again. We called the tech that came out the first time, and he told us that the card he had pointed out before had gone bad, to blow hot air into the card to get some of the moisture out and that it woul probably work. We did and the only diference is that the green light stayed on, but still no picture & no sound. Now I was doing a little research, Thas's how I came across this web site. Any way I read some thing about the canvergence circut. Can I be having a problem with that circuit, or would you please tell me how to test the circuit my self. I belive that with a little help I can trouble shoot this tv problem, since I'm an auto tech I'm familiar with schematics and have some tools to atempt this repair my self. I know that I at least have a Fluke DMM that can help. Now for your info, this might make a deference I live only about 150 to 200 meters from the acean in Baja, in Mexico. That is probably where the moisture may be comming from, and if that is the case, is there some type of protective spray I can apply to the cicuit boards? at least that is what the tech down here said but at the time he whanted over $150.00 U.S Dollars just to spray the board with this protective coating. Thank you Larry, I hope to hear from you soon.
That explanation from the other tech sounds like a bunch of bunk!. Your problem sound like they are two fold. You have the DM board is bad, and this might be able to repair it by replacing four capacitors, and the other problem, after you get the set back on, i will need to see a picture of before I help you diagnose it. I have a service manual as well as a repair document with pictures if you want it, leave an e-mail address and I will send it to you.
Larry you are a true blessing! In all honesty the explanation the other tech gave me did not convince me, but it kind of convinced my wife because he had repaired her tv units before. As to the service manual & repair documents I would be more than greatfull if you send that info my e-mail is [email protected] Larry about the protective spray that the tech mentioned down here is it true or was this guy just trying to take me for a full. I see alot of that going on down here atleast in my field. Any way Larry I will be forever thankfull for any info that would help me repair this unit.

Hi Larry.
I realize I might have been somewhat unclear. I have the issue with the green light. I press power, the green light next to the power button blinks for a couple seconds and the tv never powers up. I really appreciate your expertise.
Hi Larry,
I'm new to the site and late to the party. I have a WS-55711. Our power went and when it came back on the tv did not. All I got was a steady green blinking light. I've unplugged the set and tried to reset with no luck. Could you send me the docs. for repair?
Thanks,
Bob [email protected]
BOB!!?? Do you see the model number you are posting under to get information, This takes a lot of EXTRA uncompensated time for me to make an extra list of different fixes, as there are three different types. I will however send you what you are requesting. Just please try and pay a little more attention to the posting and what it is for. Good luck with your repair.
Hi Larry, first of all appreciate all the help you are giving people. I have the blinking light problem on my WS-55813. I think I found the DM board after I opened up the TV, but the board seems to have a metal heat sink around it. I want to figure out how to remove the right board so I can check the caps and fuses etc.
Anyway, if you could e-mail me some technical information on the fix, that would be really helpful. My email is bluelotus00 @ gmail dot com.
Hello Larry Dillon, Like many others with a Mitsubishi WS-55813, I have the green light flashing issue. I would be most appreciative if you would email me with the fix. Than you in advance. My email address is [email protected].

I have a WS 55859 Mitsubishi HDTV 1080 Nov 2001 . Green blinking light after power outage. What next? [email protected]. No manual got it from someone moving out of state and t worked great for the last year. No response from reset or remote for menus. Thanks if you can solve the problem.

I opened up the TV using Larry's instructions, and indeed the capacitors were bad. They had bulges at the top. I replaced the four capacitors with the high-temperature ones recommended by Larry (ordered from Digikey). The TV works now!
