I have the same problem; sound available, no picture, blinking green light. Repairman coming tomorrow. Is there anything to prevent same problem in future? Does this TV "guzzle" electricity? M Hadcock
No, I think northern Michigan is too far to deliver. Too bad, but I am getting closer. I have been looking for a used set as mine are all over 10 to 12 years old and on their last legs. Getting to a point of having to do something to them every few months or so.
My colleague told me that this type of TV adds significantly to your utility bill because it is always drawing some electricity so that the picture comes on quickly.
Think my Mitsubishi WS-55813 got fried last night by a power surge. Today all I get is the blinking green light and doing the reset doesn't change it. Can this be fixed with the instructions you provide? I'm assuming I need to find someone more technologically inclined than I to do it. Would a regular repair shop charge an arm and a leg? We're missing football!! Please send instructions to [email protected]. Thanks in advance!
If you have a friend who can solder, this will for sure save you at least 800 to 1000 bucks on this repair. I will send you the repair Info a little later this evening. Good Luck with the repair of your TV set.
Did repair over the weekend and everything worked great. Was not bad at all thanks to the info provided from Larry. Thanks alot for the help Larry!!!! I also have questions about a Hitachi model 57S500 if you have experience with that model?
I have the similar problem of the blinking green light of death I have read about so much here. Could you send me the picture instructions so I can take a look at the DM board and compare.
We have all supplies needed, and have the tv apart, and the board ready to desolder. The new capasitors have these two wires coming out one side...are we to cut this off? thanks
Larry, I am another in what must be a long line of Mitsubishi WS-55813 owners with the green blinking lite problem. The set was working last night; today only an endless blinking light. Unplugged from the wall, reconnected, didnt help. If you have a repair solution, I'd love to see it. You can send it to [email protected] with my deep appreciation. If the instructions are on your site, you can just point me to them.
I pleased to say that our TV is now working again !!! Thank you sooooooooo much for your help and information. We appreciate this so very much. We were not going to be able to replace the TV if it couldn't be fixed, and could not afford to have it fixed, so your help was truly appreciated. You are doing such a wonderful thing helping all of us to give this a try and do something new.
Well I removed the DM board, the capacitors were buldged. I changed them, res-assembled everything and plugged the TV in. I still have the blinking light.
Larry - you had a list of other things to check. Do you have a copy of that still you can send me so I can check for other potential problems. Please send to [email protected] Thanks.
DK, Triple check where the DM plugs into the main board. I cannot count how many times folks think the board is seated correctly into the bottom board and it turns out it was not inserted correctly. I have been told by several that they had to take off the metal case and insert the board and then install the metal casing. So like I said unplug the set, take off the case, insert the board properly, plug the set in to see if it will work. If the light goes out after 60 to 90 seconds, turn on the TV set. If it works, UNPLUG the TV set before installing the metal case. Do not use the set for any period of time without the casing attached.
Larry, I see alot of problems with the ws 55813 blinking light, I've changed the power supply and when the set was plugged in all I got was the dreaded blinking light that won't go off. Could you send me the instructions or any advise that would help get some of my life back....
Larry: I took your advice, removed everything, and re-inserted the DM board without the cover, hooked it all up and it worked. I then re-assembled the the cover in place. Thanks a million for the help. Nice to have this unit running again.
Larry, Thanks for the instructions, I noticed that the manual that you sent me was for different models than my own 55813, it appears to be for the 513 models. Will this manual work for me also.. hawkman
And of course it's football day! I've been attacked by the blinking green light monster. Have a Mitsubishi WS 55513 if it matters. Can you please send me the instructions to fix. My thanks in advance. [email protected].
Sure man, no problem. We are here to try and save you at least 800 to 1000 bucks with this repair! They will be in your mailbox in a short time. Good Luck.
WOW, Is it me or does it seem as though there are a mess of these problems in pretty much the same time frame?!?!
BTW, I too came home after shift to my boys letting me know of the 'blinkin' blinking light! I'm thinking that there is a problem with this particular module as I had mine on a UPS filtering the power therefore taking the spikes out so that it was much cleaner getting to the set. Faulty parts, faulty module, bad design?!?!
Larry, it would be greatly appreciated if you could add me to the list that is in need of the repair and manual, mine is the WS-55813. Thanks in advance,
Hey Larry. Of course my Television is having the green light of death.Ours is also a Mitsubishi WS-55813. Me and my dad are looking at the DM module and trying to get it out. The screws are all out but it won't slide out can you please send me the complete directions before we break something. My email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance.

M Hadcock, I do not know what you mean"guzzle electricity". I do not know any set that does that. Maybe I do not understand the question?
I am near Akron, Ohio.
