I'm new @ this however, I can fix anything.  My WD52525 (4bulbs later) is now red light contantly..I've been reading too much.  Where do I start?  Is it time to replace the caps?  That appears to be my next step.  Any manuals/downloads would be appreciated.  Thanks  Marc

Larry, Hey I was in  luck, my 65613 was still under warranty and they came and fixed the caps 4 free. They wouldn't use the ones I bought from digikey , saying that Mitsi made them use the identical cap same as before.... OK it's free...........Now it is doing the same thing it was doing before the caps went bad. Shutting off , blinking , then I can turn it back on and it works fine for another week.......

Question is ..should I take it back apart and install the 1000/16v caps to stop this nightmare?

No let them find out why this

No let them find out why this is happening. You have a warranty and this is a problem you had before the caps went bad. Could be a problem with caps in the power supply or perhaps the Formatter board is going bad.

Larry, I now have the blinking green light (blinks three times then goes out until I press the power button again) on my WS-55805. Can you email instructions on replacing caps for this model? My email is [email protected]. I also have the service manual for this model in case I should use it to refer to the correct caps/board. Thanks!

Larry Dillon
FRoller, I am sorry but there

FRoller, I am sorry but there is no DM fix or easy fix as far as I know for your TV set. If the set blinks the light for 3 seconds and goes out, It is not a DM problem, if there is even a DM in this set. It does not sound like there is. If you have the service manual, send to [email protected] and I will see if I can see a common denominator that would cause this. Good luck

Larry,

Thanks for the info. The service manual I have is paper. Is there any way to decode what three blinks really means on a mitsubishi? The service manual doesn't list anything. Guess it's time to call a service person.

Larry,

I did some checking online and found one thread somewhere that listed error codes and how to get them to display on the timer led (just like my chevy!). I press the input and the menu buttons on the tv front panel for about 30 seconds and then the timer led flashes a code 12 (again just like my chevy). It does this 5 times.

The thread that I found this described said that code 12 means there's no error (fault).

So now I'm hunting down what code 12 really means for my set. Was it something that I did in the service mode that is keeping the set off? Are there other front panel tricks?

 Thanks always for your help.

Larry Dillon
Error code 12 simply means

Error code 12 simply means that no fault is detected. When you say was it something you did in the menu? What were you setting in the menu and why were you in the menu adjusting? Also, in the menu, if you do change a setting or value, you are suppose to write down what the original setting was in case you mess up something as there is no reset for most of those settings.

FRoller
Larry,

Larry,

I believe I hit enter on 'Initial' , I hit enter on 'E2Reset' (but not QV right after because the manual said that it would require full adjustment). I also believe I hit enter on 'DTV Diagnostics' and 'DTV E2Reset'.

I was mainly in the service mode to do the convergence there instead of the usual method using the standard menu.  I also had what I believe was a 1080 input from my hdtv receiver and so I wanted to set the DTV mode to HD before doing the convergence. When I changed it to HD the screen went out of lock so I put it back to Auto mode.

After doing the above I exitted service mode. The tv said to remove power from the DTV and reapply power whenever I selected input DTV. I assume this is because I hit enter on the above menus? It indicated channel 99.9 on the display which seems like it thought I had the internal tuner.

The tv continued to work on Ant1 and I was able to enter the standard menus. I tried to change the Assign Input for DTV to be YPrPb but it would only show Off or RGB. Since I have the external receiver it is connected to the YPrPb inputs.

So the classic, enter service mode at your own risk, oops you just broke your tv happened I guess. I really messed up this time.

 Anyone need parts?

Larry Dillon
If you reset the E2, you

If you reset the E2, you reset everything. Not a great idea unless you know how to reprogram everything. If the convergence was off, you probably have bad convergence IC's. You should not have to readjust the service menu for the convergence unless you change a driver IC. If the unit drifts on the convergence, use the customer convergence alignment. It is to adjust only slight drifting on the convergence. Anything major will require the set to be repaired first. You made a mistake a lot of people make. The service menu is not the TV Set's fix all thing.
